Targets DIY Splatter Target?

I'm definitely one of the biggest DIY proponents out there, but when you can get 620 of the 1" bulls for $8.99 I just don't see the reward of DIY in this case. You get 10 sheets of targets. To make those (not including labor) it's going to be a minimum of $4 in materials.

If you do want to make them however, try this. I found this on another site a few years ago and have made plenty.

Choose the backboard material. Foamcore works well, but plywood, cardboard or whatever flat surface you have will work.

Paint the backboard a fluorescent color.

Cover it with overlapping strips of 2" clear packing tape.

Paint the taped surface black.

So the cost is the paint and the tape. I generally keep all of that, so I didn't have to buy anything.

I use metal electrical box covers and paint them with marking paint.

Target practice and laundry at the same time. Nice!

If someone is wanting to do a DIY, I use a yellow sheet of paper then run it through the laminating machine, then paint one side flat black. I stick a small dot at a focus point and shoot away. I use them for long distance pistol shooting on a regular basis.

That being said I did add the above 1" targets to my Amazon cart.

you can reuse splatter targets by just painting over them with flat black spray paint= can get a good number of reuses out of one target that way- if an area is too shot out, place a piece of tape over that spot- paint over the silver tape, and good to go-
