DIY Adjustable Front Bench Rest w/ Adjustable Rear Bag

When shooting off the bench it can often be a pain in the butt getting the right height on the front and rear rests. I find this especially true as I have several guns with very different stocks. Rather than just purchase a solution I made this a project. The front rest is made from shop material that were scraps. I made it wide enough to fit all my guns and lined it with some foam from Hobby Lobby. The small pieces of plywood give me a lot of options for height in the front, and I stole a piece of foam from my wife's garden kneeling pad to rest the gun on. The rest can swivel from left to right, because on the bottom piece of plywood I drilled and installed a pin (I think this was from a stake that came with a Gamo target) although a stout nail would work. A little epoxy and it works nicely.

On the rear rest I was really pleased to find a small scissor jack. Add a pad and with a twist of the knob you can easily raise or lower the rear to where you want it. Here is where I found it; https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OVC9T7S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 For $18 it has proven to be well worth it.
