Discovery Optics HD 4-20x50mm IR-MIL FFP Scope

Ha ha ha!!!

Thanks, brother! Hey, I don't even have proof yet, sir. Lol

I gotta get a scope cam. Mine will not group dish base less than 1.25 or so at 50 yards. Flat base 29.5, .249 is what she likes. I watched a couple videos (Matt Dubber and one other guy) where there emphasis was a resounding "harmonics, harmonics..." we have to make those painstaking tiny adjustments of that valve bumper starting down from 950 fps or so. It's always 930-940, so it's a fairly tight range where it works right.

I would try those slugs I mentioned if you haven not in .25 caliber, dude. That 950 fps capability, then work down..... seems mandatory.

One guy said sight in at 25 yards in 3 shot groups (saves lead) till you get 3 thru a ragged hole, then take it out to 100. Forget 50 yards. They hold good at 25; they'll keep holding on out! Don't expect the one hole at 60 like pellets, but, they will hold less than 1.5 inches almost indefinitely, and they just seem to always hit long shots. And they carry SO much more energy at long range.

Ha ha.....i ordered 3 more boxes of 300 today!

Good luck and my prayers, sir!

Have a merry Christmas!

cwooten, no worries about me not having an Impact...great guns! LOL! Tuning for slugs is the same for most I’m sure as each barrel has its own characteristics! I enjoy shooting as does most here and slugs are very fun with their high BC..amazing! Keep up the great shooting and Happy Holidays to you too! Oh..and don’t buy up all the slugs! LOL!

Are the ED the best quality from Discovery?

I would say it is a tie between the ED line and the HD line, with the HD line offering up to 34mm tubes (HD/34), while the ED rounds out at 30mm. Pricing and other features is similar between the ED and HD/34's. One interesting thing that I found is that the ED claims to be waterproof for 10 minutes, while the HD line simply says that it is waterproof with no conditions. The real question would be to compare similar HD/30 and HD/34 scopes to the ED line and see which one appeals more.

I currently have the Athlon scope and have had to send it back a couple of times. My current one is probably going to go back. So when I get the replacement I'll sell it new in the box at a used price.

So I'm looking for a new scope for my impact shooting JSB 34gn pellets. The Discovery scope has caught my eye. Great reviews but so were the Athlon reviews when they first came out.

Wondering how the Discovery compares to the Aztec Emerald, the MTC Viper or the Hawke Sidewinders?

Just looking for a solid, accurately tracking scope. Easy, right? haha

Thanks,

Bro, I've had mine since ive owned my impact, about three months. In that time, she's slid down once on hardwood , and has fallen out of the truck door one time. Never moved. Once you get used to the Fine crosshairs, It's a Wonderful tool. First focal plane is a new feature to me, and I'll never look back. Very consistent, and I would recommend it to anybody for 250 bucks. I take plink target shots at night; draws light in great with 50mm objective. Illuminated reticle works flawlessly.

Hey Ghulam;

I just got measurements on digi calipers on mine.

It's 44 on the eyepiece, and 58 on the objective by outside diameters.

41 and 55 respectively, for inside diameters, but those outside measurements are what will give you reference if you measure the ID of what you're buying, if that makes sense.

Many blessings for you and yours, sir!

I'm pretty sure the flip up covers come with it. They did with my 18 and 32 power scopes.

Nah, there was that bikini type rubber cover only. not very field friendly for me

Just out of curiosity, where did you order your scope from? All of the Discovery scopes I have bought came in a box with Butler Creek style slip-up caps in the box with the scope, although it has been a while now since I purchased a new one.
