Discovery optics 4-16x50 ffp.

does anyone have one or have any info? Seems fairly cheap for a ffp scope, but I’ve heard good things about other scopes they have.

It’s a vt-z 4-16x50 with side wheel. It’s the bottom end of the discovery scopes @ $139 with rings, but I’m not looking at breaking the bank on a scope. It’s already stretching the $100 I wanted to limit myself to. I was originally looking at pinty or that price range, but I’ve heard some pretty good stuff about these discovery scopes, and if it’s anything like my vortex crossfire I have on my springer, I’d be very happy with it!!

to clarify, this is going on a pcp that I’ll use for short range pest control (up to 50yds) perhaps some small game hunting from time to time, but nothing too far out.

For the price this one will ABSOLUTELY positively blow it out of the water and also scopes costing up to $650.00 to $1000.00 believe it or not. Search for a working discount coupon like a 15% off. Thank me later you WILL be BLOWN AWAY. I just compared it to a $1200.00 JAPAN SCOPE and BOY OH BOY!!!

For giggles I'm going to try your recommendation once!

I have one and they work pretty ok and the turrets do track reliably but the clicks sound "mushy"

Plus the adjustments on the turrets are in 1/8th "

that's pretty darn clear for 230 bucks! I can't find information on the turret adjustment, I ordered the MRAD version so will see how it goes. Hope it's not one of those MRAD reticle but MOA adjustment BS! This might be the last time I listen to Yo's scope recommendation! LOL

That Vector Everest 3-18x50 has a BDC reticle, meaning that the distances between the hash lines are not evenly spaced out, but calibrated according to the bullet trajectory of a common rifle cartridge.

I wonder which pellet from which gun with which caliber will follow that trajectory that Vector calibrated that scope for..... 🤔

➔ Right. The answer is: None.

So, if your ballistic calculator tells you that for your 28 yard shot you need to hold over 1.3 mil (or 4.4 moa) — where do you put the bulls on the reticle...?

➔ Right, we don't know, since the elevation hash lines of this reticle are not in mil nor moa, and even if they were they are they evenly spaced out for holdovers. The reticle lines are whatever Vector decided that particlar rifle cartidge needed (most likely for ranges at 100y, 200y, and 300y...).

Sorry, it's the truth and nothing but the truth. And I don't like it. Because that reticle does look nice! 😊

I do own a bunch of Discovery scopes too you know... I was a huge fan until I took ONE LOOK through MY FIRST ALPHA6.

If the darn thing has MRAD reticle with reticle Mils locking turrets it might just be a winner. The bushnell you recommended had MRAD reticle but MOA adjustment, talk about confusing!

I still would like a FFP scope but doesn’t hurt to give this one a try. For hunting SFP has some advantages.

Thanks for the useless post. However, it’s a mpt2r reticle in his scope which is in moa. Not bdc

Yeah, I'm not sure what to make of this.

Both the webpage you linked and the Vector home page say at one point MPT2R reticle, and then they say MPX reticle.....

And the reticle diagram below shows moa, but it is strangely silent about how far the elevation hash lines are apart — supposedly the ones we use most often....

And those elevation lines are not evenly spaced....

Just saying what I see. Not trying to tell anybody what they should like or do. 👍🏼

I’m confused. Maybe i need a lesson on how to read reticles. You said the males aren’t evenly spaced? Am I missing something. I really would like to learn!

That looks like the AEON TRAJECTORY RETICLE. PERFECT TO STRETCH THEM 10 METER GUNS (WAY!!!) PAST THEIR INTENDED DISTANCE. AEONS had pretty decent glass. Too bad the proprietor decided to take all the money and RUN!
