Discovery Optics 3-12x44 FFP

Got this gem of a scope from Brian @ EdgunWest today and mounted it on my Taipan Mutant Shorty in .22 cal. It fits perfectly for such a compact PCP.

The eye relief is generous and clear all the way through 12x. The optics are bright, include a wafer-style sunshade, scope caps, and 30mm weaver scope rings.

The turrets are mil-mil and have positive clicks. The turrets themselves lift up to operate, then get pushed back down to lock in place. They are resettable once you find your zero. You just need a flat head screwdriver to do so.

The only issue I have with it is that it has no marks on the turrets themselves to give you an orientation as to which direction RIGHT or LEFT would be, so it's trial and error until you figure it out.

At $199, I think it's a steal!

I saw they sold them on Ali Express but I haven't had very good luck with Ali Express if there's an issue . I'd MUCH rather buy from a dealer I know and trust . So far Brian has been nothing but a stand up guy all the way around . No way I'd buy it anywhere else when price is same .

Plus you have somebody to back you up if you ran into an issue .

Can't wait to try this lil sucker out !

I have the same setup as the thead starter.

When ever I was ready to get a taipan it was sold out. I caved in for my birthday over a month ago for a used taipan and had this optic pre purchased specifaclly for this shorty, waiting for it to arrive. We all know how good the taipans are no opinion needed there and well this optic I would say... sssshhhhhh lets not get the word get out too much. I would prefer to buy another new and not used when its time to purchase.

To: Joe, your great video about best $200 scopes, I would just add a little voice over in the begging how its now the top 11 scopes and have a new favorite

To: Edgunwest, I doubt they will sell out so no need to order more right now, is my guess. This is a niche scope small, light, lower power, lower priced. I say niche cause people expect to pay less for cheap scopes or want more for nice scopes and will be conflicted with other brands they are used to. I bet repeat customers will be your biggest draw to this particular scope. I also used the word niche cause I read it used for the leishy. Have you tried it on that partucular airgun?

Here's a shot of my Discovery VT-T 6-24x50. Very Bright and that Reticle is so crisp. That's 55 yards. I'm a Discovery Fan.
