Disco fill port in a 2260 tube question.

So, I got a disco fill port and valve with the intention of putting it into a 2260 tube on my 2400KT so I can bulk fill. The disco fill port will not thread into the 2260 tube end however, what am I missing, I thought this lined up fine? The 2260 tube seem solid, it's fairly heavy steel and it's marked 2260. Anyway, I would be thankful for any help and if I should be ordering a different tube to add some capacity when bulk filling let me know what tube may work better.

...idk....ive done several this same way.... i was a little gun shy at first, but a well known maker of after market parts spoke with me on the phone - and he had run the pressures in these 2260 tubes up over 5-6K psi.....he said when they did blow , they blew out the front or muzzle end - which is what i was concerned with ( a blowout from the back side - in my neck )......but mind you , this is with a well anchored disco valve ( or even a pistol mrod valve ) on all both sides with high tensile-rated screws , and the under screw anchor from the 2260 valve. ----- yeah , man , something not right. compare your 2260 end plug to the threads on your disco fill adaptor thingy ( or whatever crosman calls that $20 part).....maybe they changed the thread pattern or something ? https://raneair.webs.com/crosman2400pcpx.htm

I've never had a problem threading a Disco or P-Rod fill adapter into a 2260 or 2400 tube, and have done several of these hpa conversions.

However, on my first experience with installing a HiPac, I had a similar problem and ended up using some valve lapping compound and was able to clean up the threads

enough to complete the install.

Might be worth a try?

Thanks for the response, I will wait until the 2400KT gets here and try it on there as well as that cap on the 2260 to try and figure out if there's an issue with threats or what's going on.

Thank you both!

So, I wanted to wait till I got my 2400KT and try the end cap from that in the 2260 and try the Disco fill port in the 2400 as well. The Disco fill port doesn't fit in either, seems like it should, threads look the same and so on but nothing. Can anybody confirm that they've put a Disco or Marauder fill port in a 2400, 2240, 2260 tube before and it worked? I want to get this sorted out so I can reorder parts.

A Discovery and/or Marauder PISTOL fill adapter should thread right into any 22XX tube. The threads are very, very fine and must be "started" very, very, carefully.

You have to be really sure the threads are clean with no debris. That's where the aforementioned valve lapping compound comes in. It's available at Auto Zone, etc.

-It's a very fine powdery stuff you put on the threads and you slowly work the adapter in/started work it back and forth- it will clean up any swarf in between your threads.

The only other explanation would be a factory change in thread pitch, which is very doubt full.
