Different Holds

Just me sharing:

Springers are something else. When using shooting sticks shooting my Prosport I place the sticks at the front on the stock screws. That's how I'm set up. But if a shooting lane calls for standing and I hold at the stock screws my poi is no where near poa. I will actually have to move my hand all the way to the front of the trigger guard to match my stock screw hold.

I haven’t shot springers in while but when I did I would use the same loose artilery hold at all times. If using a bag or sticks I would still have my mostly open hand on the same place in the stock as I would for a off hand shot. So my hand would be touching the bag or sticks and not my gun. Seemed to work pretty good.

This is excellent advice for air rifles as well as powder burners. Since I always have my hands with me but don't always have shooting sticks or sand bags I also rest my rifle on my hand with the hand the same position at all times. I have found that if I zero my deer rifle in on sand bags and then rest it on my hand poi will be low. On springers I put the tip of my index finger in the cutout for the cocking arm which seems to work well for me.
