Difference between 50mm and 56mm diameter lense

Just a question I have for choosing my new scope.. should I take 50 or 56 mm diameter lense?? (weight ain't a problem) What can I expect of a bigger lense except a better luminosity? I believe it's also harder to find the sweet spot for your eye relief when you have a bigger lense, is that true??

As I understand it....

Depends on your application......the bigger the diameter then the bigger the exit pupil (like you said more light can pass through the lens resulting in increased luminosity) so if you will be shooting during the twilight hours then go bigger. If you only plan on shooting during bright times (full daylight) then go with the smaller diameter since it will give you longer relief.
