Did I buy the right equipment??

Howdy all, I am brand new to airguns and I purchased a FX dreamline classic with a Hawake Airmax 4-12x50. Along with the scope I purchased Hawke rings (high.) So my question is are the High rings high enough? Or do I need extra high? I would just try it out but gun is on back order witch I'm sure alot yours are too. If I would need the higher rings would like to try an order them so hopefully it would be a seamless transition. Sorry for the newbie question. Thanks for any info

I can't answer your question but you probably won't know for sure until you try it and see how you like the scope position vs your heads position. I buy cheap scope rings (like $9 a pair) and have a drawer full. I try a couple diff heights before I even sight in the rifle. Then will decide down the road if the rifle is worthy of something more costly. And usually, that's only the case were I need something adjustable. And yes, I've had some garbage cheap rings that got recycled. I'm not proud, if they work they work and I don't buy many things for looks. Springers get more attention but that's not me anymore.

Enjoy the new gun....

You may want to consider these or similar as there is usually a decent amount of barrel droop in many airguns and they can be adjusted to give you back your elevation adjustment. There are a couple of other decent brands out there and some cheap junk so be careful with your purchase. With a 50mm lens on your scope you should be able to get by with medium mounts for the most part but manufacturers are not all consistent in their measurements of what they consider medium and high mounts so do some research before you buy. You also need to consider your magazine and stock height as well as the shape of your face as these have a lot to do with your scope height needs. I would say that as stated in other posts above you are safest with a high mount.
