Diana ZR Mount

I have a ZR mount on my Diana n-tec 340 and it works beautifully. From a rest I can do 3/4" groups at 42 yards with a cheap 3-9x40 leapers scope on the ZR mount. I have not noticed any sideways movement and there is no play at all in the slide mov't, just the back and forth one would expect. Hope you figure it out - it seems people either have great experiences with this mount or terrible ones.

Psf thankyou for your reply. It’s a little frustrating because at times i get a 5 shot group within half an inch at 25 metres and then it all goes haywire. Its like I have a scope problem but I’ve ruled that out.

The mount definitely flexes when you hold either end of the scope. It also rattles sometimes when moving the rifle. I think it’s the bin for this mount.

I am hoping that my new rifle arrives this week as I ordered another ZR mount when I ordered the rifle nearly five months ago. I can’t get two dud mounts can I, we will have to wait and see.

Thanks again

Gary

Old thread but... There are grub screws that hold the rings on the rails. You must remove the scope to access them. 2mm or 3mm hex key I think.

My ZR mount definately had some wiggle. Found all four of these screws had loosened up.

Tightening them definately improved the "wiggle" but did not eliminate it all.

I thought for sure that would solve my POI changes, but alas, I was wrong.

Very frustrating.

In my situation breaking in an RWS 54 magnum springer with PIO shifts I have run the following checklist to figure out what's up:

1) triple checked to eliminate paralax error

2) changed scopes

3) changed mounts

4) checked barrel droop

Still struggling.

FlexWagtail I feel your pain. The mount referred to in this post was binned. I believe it was a gen 1 mount. Recently I though I’d give it another try and this mount was also defective. With the scope mounted and shimmed to the max the windage dial on my Hawke Airmax was as far left as it could go and poi suffered. Looking down the rifle you could see the scope wasn’t parallel. I returned the mount for a replacement and this one has been great, also once mechanically centering the Airmax it now sits on my Lgv without an issue.

Based on that bit of good fortune I purchased another one and it works a treat also. Below is a helpfull tip from Lewis which I have done on one of my mounts, I’m impressed with the way it works. It took me a bit of fiddling to adjust the tension but I’m happy with it. It may help you.
