Diana outlaw vs. FX streamline

Farrah. I’m a fanboy of the gun brand which service center is nearest to me. For me, that’s Kalibrgun. For you, it may (I could be wrong) FX if you are still in SC. See how far you are to FX USA. Trust me, there’s nothing like having to ship one of these guns all the way across the CONUS because it took a dump and it’s under warranty....on your dime. Do some research and see if they are open for business. Shipping for repairs may be way cheaper for you. Only reason I have not tried FX is because of that. I drive an hour.five to my dealer.

The other thing is that if you buy the best most reliable gun you can from the get go, you will actually save $ because you will end up incrementally upgrading at a little loss each time. Albeit you will learn a lot and experience different guns doing it that way.
Good luck

To me, it is worth driving to hold test drive airguns - and meet people-.
I had one person drive 4-1/2hours one way to shoot airguns at my house ( had a decent collection then ) and they felt it well worth the drive.
A much better bet ( yes it's a drive for you but well worth it) is to get to a Field Target match. I personally know a lot of Southern FT shooters, I know of 5 who shoot 3p also- likely more just just never came up-, just because it's "FT" does NOT mean someone there does NOT own just about any airgun ever made and they are willing to let you try theirs.
You simply want a new airgun, got it.
At 50 yards with the correct pellet your Gauntlet should shoot dime sized 50 shot groups with the right pellet. Fun can be had tinkering with it if it does not already give these results.
Someone mentioned triggers ( big thing with me personally ) at about 16oz for the FX and 15oz for the Outlaw - reviewers out of the box listed numbers - I would certainly call them a tie.
Someone mentioned the "unknown" QC of the Outlaw but it has been in production a good long while under different names, is made by the folks who make a lot of pre-charged airguns for others names and, Diana/dealers have placed there personal QC requirements for their runs. The internal machining looks very good, better than too many $1,000+ rigs.

Reckon it's only me but FX QC seems a bit spotty ever since the new shop started up. Once upon a time FX YES ( remember the Thor ? ) now I personally could not be talked into spending money on one of the newest models, then again if I had spare money???

Go to a match or at least a show, they are what I would call , close to you. You'll have a good time and develop TOO many idea's on what you might "need" in the near future.

You might find ( might find one for sale ) you actually like the MAR , at 600+fps it wouldnt be much at 50 yards but the only one I've seen ( from Scott ) shotb one hole at 25.

Want some fit & finish used Air Arms are selling way cheap these days. Heck anything except what's coming out next is selling low used. Face to face makes used a wonderful thing.

Please do think abouit taking a drive to a shoot.

My friend has a syn Streamline and it is a great gun. Very smooth, good shot count, accurate and plenty powerful. I just bought a Diana Outlaw and am very pleased with it. It is light weight, powerful, accurate and smooth operating. Accuracy is great with 15.9 JSB at 920-930 for 44 shots. I really haven't had a lot of time lately to shoot it but so far it is living up to my expectations(which are different for everybody).
I also own a Cricket .25 and the Diana is not in the same league but I didn't expect it to be. Out to 35 yards, which is as far as I've been able to shoot it, it basically does one ragged hole with the 15.9's. The groups open up slightly with the 18.1's. I have also owned a couple AZ tuned Rapids, AA, and multiple others so I know quality. This Diana is probably the best of the Chinese guns that I have seen and owned. I really can't find any flaws with it and my only complaint is loading the magazine. If I had long fingernails it would be easy but as is you need something to seat the pellet. I use a stiff piece of trimmer line about an inch long or sometimes just use another pellet.

Just my 2c.

I also thought about a Dreamline, but since you can't even pre-order yet, Dreamlines could be months away. That pretty much ruled out the Dreamline for me. I bought used and saved a few bucks.

I just noticed that AoA has a couple used Streamlines and a used Wildcat. Wildcat was my next choice if I couldn't get an Impact or such. The Wildcat is $1049. The Streamline in Synthetic is $895. There's also a Walnut stock Streamline for $995, but buyer beware on that one, it's got a crack in the pistol grip. I'd ask lots of questions before buying.

Airgun Depot has an FX Wildcat Synthetic Gen 1 (standard Smooth Twist barrel) for $1099.

There are some very good deals out there, if you search.

Good luck

The Streamline is to me just about perfect for a mid-end (strange to say, but these things are so expensive these days this is really the middle) PCP. It's light, points well, the ergonomics are great, it's got very high quality construction, it's incredibly accurate, adjustable power, high shot count. I guess you could maybe gripe about the magazines a bit? I just spent 5 minutes trying to remember how to load them since I hadn't shot it in a while, lol, and they're a bit expensive. Otherwise I don't see how you wouldn't be happy with one or be kicking yourself.

Of course, you'll want another PCP you don't _need_ before long, but that's just a fact in the hobby.
