Diana outlaw vs. FX streamline

well some background .. I have the Umarex Gauntlet in .22 absolutely love it stacks pellets at 25yds and confidently hit group under 2" every time @ 50yds with Hawke Vantage 4x12 50mm and that's using "el cheapo" CPHP. So here I am tiny ole me back at the ranch after getting out of the Corps and having ditch centerline firearms 3 gun sport and beside not many women 3 gun in SC and the testosterone level absolutely pollutes the fun out of it. sorry about that rant ... anyway I'm ready for another PCP I have been saving up for the FX Streamline (not enough saved up yet) and just now recently saw the review on the Diana Outlaw. ooooh ... now I am in a conundrum .. go all out and get FX and leave all doubt or save the $$ and go with Diana. So this is what I am shooting for.. stack pellets @ 25yrs .. humane pest kill max @ 50 yrds from what I saw of the Diana review it does all that but the FX is without question exceed that... so.... whatya think... cut my lose and go with Diana or wait for FX

Centercut .... full disclosure .. I suffer from "for a few dollar more you can get this..." if I decided to get the Streamline that annoying voice in my head will say ... for $300 you can get the Wildcat and you always wanted a bullpup... and when I do have enough for it .... it kicks in again ... "if you wait for another 2 paycheck you can get the FX Impact"

Gotta agree - get the FX or something like the Brocock if at all possible.

The SPA guns i.e. Diana Outlaw are a major gamble. Some are great, others have terrible barrels and by the time you’ve replaced that and possibly payed the airgunsmith to tune it etc you haven’t saved as much as you hoped. Plus, no matter what you do the trigger and firing cycle will never compare.

I have the p15 / skyhawk I picked up because it was cheap with great features... and it’s really not great. Multiple issues and a barrels transplant later it’s alright, but no Vulcan or wildcat. Not by a long shot.

It’s always nice to hope for a deal, but value is only value when you’re not actually getting much more in the pricier gun -in this case I assure you you are.

If you have a place that you can go hold them and try them out would be best, then get the one you like most price be damned
I've shot both and I would lean toward the FX Streamline, but that is purely personal preference
the gun you get needs fit and feel comfortable or you will not enjoy shooting it as much so there is that to consider
as Centercut stated, look at brocock as well as Daystate, the Huntsman is pretty sweet and they now come with a huma regulator.

My advice is to buy something you can grow into and not out of. Save a few dollars more and get what you really want. In the long run you'll save money and be far happier. I agree with Centercut, check out the Brocock Bantam semi-bullpup. It's priced well under the Wildcat and Renegade, but it's every bit as good IMO and I own all three.

I was faced with similar choices. By my nature I'm an absolute cheapskate and will usually cheap out and not get the best. I'm always dissatisfied after a while, and
"Need" the item I originally wanted. Sometimes it works out to go cheap, but usually, I regret it.

I have a Marauder, and as a learning gun, it's great. Completely adjustable and such, but my accuracy seems to fade past 75 yards. Therefore, I decided to buy a new gun about two years ago. But which one? I finally made the decision to get the cash together for the best gun I've seen at what I want to do, and that's bench with a little hunting thrown in.

Could have purchased anything from the Bantom to an FX Impact. I waited and bought the Impact. Now, I know it'll be me if I miss. (Impact arrived at 11:00 this morning and I haven't even seen it yet).

anyway, point being, don't cheap out. Save and get the gun you want. Save for the Streamline. It's a whole different level of quality, fit and finish. The Outlaw would work, but if you want something that is really accurate and well made, go with the Streamline. The wait is worth it. Just watch the reviews and make your decision:

Notice loading the magazine. He's got to push the pellets in. That alone would drive me nuts.

Now watch the Streamline:

Your call!

FarrahUSMC, I just went through the same drill and was torn between the Brocock and the Streamline. I would have been happy with either, and have shot Centercuts's Brocock in a match and it is a great shooter. I also touched and played with the Streamline. I found a used Streamline .22 and bought it. Two reasons: I am not a fan of the can on the Brocock. It's ok for bench but its a hand full when walking around. The Streamline is lighter, much more streamlined (svelt), and comes to the shoulder so nicely. Used it was the same price as the Brocock and I could not be happier. I must say though that I am 6ft and very old guy so weight and handling are critical with accuracy a given.
I will bet you are used to the AR format and if you are not used to a traditional rifle stock like the streamline then you need to try that gun first because you may not warm up to that format. I see lots of younger folks only going for the AR style. You need to pay attention to what your gut is telling you.

Best of luck, keep us posted !

socaloldman.. hi :) yes I am used to the AR platform being a former Marine and since I grew up on a ranch I am very familiar with stock gun having started with a Henry .22lr. I am very open to all types or ergonomics and been a glock fan I have to adopt to a 1911 for my 3 gun. as of now the swinging vote for which one it all boils down to availability.. see how has which in stock.

I have a couple fx rifles and have a friend with 2 different fx rifles, all 4 rifles are truly amazing no bs! the wildcat or streamline are great guns with options to put huma regs which are very adjustable so you can increase the power to shoot heavier pellets at higher speeds. They are quality built with great triggers, smooth cocking and fantastic accuracy.

On paper, both guns have similar specs. You can buy two Outlaws for the price of one Streamline but the Outlaw is new and there is a big question mark concerning reliability, long livity, and spare parts availability. Not all stuff made in China is junk but a lot is. I think if you buy this gun you will still be thinking about updating within a short amount of time. If you get the Streamline, you should be satisfied for, at least, the time being.
