Diana Chaser - Too much fun.

So, being wintertime, I have been practicing my air pistol in the basement for the local 10m matches. Shooting an old FWB Model 2. Well, the girlfriend wanted to shoot while I was practicing, and being of smaller stature, she really didn't like my Daisy 853, or my old Crosman pumpers. Before Christmas got a Daisy 880 for her to use. She could pump it, but didn't really like the crappy trigger on it, and quickly got tired of pumping.

I figured maybe a CO2 pistol or rifle would be good for her and decided to try out the chaser kit. Got it last week, and oh it is too much fun! Put the rifle barrel on it, and got the cheap $12 Daisy scope from Pyramid to top it off. She loves the light weight. No pumping, and it is plenty accurate for the 29 feet in the basement. And the moderator on it is so quiet.

Only problem now is that it takes too long to fill the 9 shot magazine and my pellet tins keep coming up empty.

I've got some spinners and knockdown targets and it is almost hard to miss. Not sure if anyone else has tried this CO2 gun yet, but I was impressed and really enjoying shooting it as much as she is. I have a feeling there may be another identical purchase to Pyramid in the near future. I've got plans to make a few moving gallery type targets and this gun will be perfect for that.

Oh Well, just wanted to share the excitement and see if anyone else has any comments.

Enjoy.

I got one for my 7yo son last Christmas and it has been a good gun after fixing a major barrel flaw. Like one of its older siblings, the CR600W (Mrodair Plinkster) I had gotten a couple of years prior, it had mangled rifling at the muzzle. A hi-def picture I took with my potato:

After chopping and recrowning:

The pistol barrel was okay. Not great, just not abused like the rifle barrel.

kkirsch,

The iron sights on it are decent. Just a plain square notch and post. I used them on both the pistol and rifle. They were fine, but I bought it with the idea of using the scope. It was nice that the pistol sight on the rear does not need to be removed to use the rifle barrel sight. I would have like to have a rear peep sight to use with the rifle barrel, but since it didn't, that is why I opted for the scope.

Hope your daughter enjoys the gun. It is light enough that she should be able to hold it well. Hope you have many good days spending time with your daughter and building those memories.

I have 2 of them for my son and I to plink with. Great times plinking and a really fun way to garner some cheap trigger time for him.

DonnyFL makes an adapter for a standard thread moderator. Adding a Tanto brought it to mouse fart levels, albeit the mod costs more than the pistol!

I added a red dot on both and it works great, keeps the balance nice and did not add excess weight. BSA is an acceptable red dot, I prefer the Hawke. The cheapo pistol dot in the pic was an amazon purchase but hold zero well.

Overall a great little CO2 pistol! Mags load backwards, but no big deal. getting about 35 shots before it drops off. Accuracy was impressive too even with RWS Hobbies.
