Diana 34 spring replaced...this is NOT what I was expecting.

Great, I think you will be pleased with it. I am. I have to go back to an Oct. 25th post and thank member Mrshosted for suggesting Vortex. My first one has 5700 shots now, no issues. The new one has a 40 foot zero shot in my basement, so far 30 shots. No shooting outside today, 12F now, high of 18 predicted. I have plenty of center fire reloading to catch up on. Show us a picture when you have it mounted up.

I still recall Vortex of old.

JM makes an outstanding product

And they stand the test of time.

I appreciate that John. I actually have already ordered a GRT MK2 kit from Jim at Air Rifle Headquarters. It should be here tomorrow. I just got another RWS 34 Classic (which I haven't even shot yet) that I'm wanting to try it out in at some point. Or maybe try it in the 34P that's been the subject of all this conversation (but it's shooting so good now). JM is where I get all my lubes and seals. He has a circa 1980's looking website...LOL ! But don't let that fool you. His products I have found to be top notch. Really fast shipping too! I've gone a bit nuts with this stuff I'm afraid. I've found that I enjoy working on and experimenting with these rifles almost as much as I love shooting them.

seven08, I will surely post a picture when I get that Vortex mounted. Thank you.

Always a pre-charged type when I got into springers I was hesitant untill I broke a spring and a fellow airgunner stopped by with tar & lube & dummy pins for the T-01 trigger. We did it the dangerous way ( dont try it folks ) using two men instead of a spring compressor ( which I immediately built for the next time . 99% of springer NEED one ) and then I had discovered the joy's of springer mechanics.

Good clean fun.

No, you are very correct sir! A warning to anyone out there wanting to make your first attempt at tearing down your springer. If your springer is a 15-17 fpe. rifle or higher,do not do it without the help of a spring compressor! The first time I took my 34 apart, I did it without a compressor. I do mechanical work for a living, so my finger and hand strength are probably above average. Getting it easesd out was not so bad. But it has the possibility of being dangerous. Now, getting it back in was a whole other story. Did not think I was gonna be able to. There is a tremendous amount of energy stored in this spring. I had to enlist some help to get it all back in there and the pins installed. Later that night I ordered me a spring compressor........oh so easy now.
