Depressing News about the Smooth Twist X 700mm slug barrels and liners

OP, this is why I won’t buy any new FX.
The marketing strategy is upgrades.
I have one FX, an Elite. To get ST barrels that fit it all they have to do is sell me a Royal barrel.
I gave up on getting ST in lengths I want.

My 7 barrels of which 1 is a .25 ST.

FX should sell bare barrel kits with no liner. Then you can add whatever you want.

It would be nice, but might be in conflict with some laws in some countries. Like in Norway, the barrel kit with liner included, is regarded a complete barrel. So when buying bigger than .177, requires a license. But liners themselves are not regarded a barrel. So if you have a license for a complete .22 barrel, you can buy as many liners as you want, without applying for each. If it was opposite where you could buy the sleeve, without liner, I would believe it would not be regarded a barrel (as there technically is no barrel in it), and then selling liners separately would come in conflict with the law. Imagine someone which wanted to find a way around the law, they could import sleeve from another country (which is not a barrel), and then buy the liner (which not either is a barrel) without ever having to apply for a license.

I’m new to PCP air rifles and started off with an inexpensive Rainson edge and a hand pump. It got dirty really fast. Had the shop tweak a little more speed out of it and have tumblers now. I’m looking to go in for tank air and perhaps the FFX Impact .35 with the 800mm barrel or perhaps the Western Airguns Rattler. I’m looking for a slug gun that I’ll shot at the range and hopefully once in a while hunt medium to larger game. I like the simplicity of the Lothar/Walther barrel and hammer less set up in the tattler but the three year limited warranty has its benefits. I’m concerned the impact is such a fragile
Looking gun with so many moving parts that it it gets bumped, (or dropped) I’m in trouble. Plus I don’t have a reliable dealer near me. The one I do have seems to be limited in experience. I see Utah and Arizona as a couple of the bigger distributors. Any thoughts?

it might help to make a stand alone post with this vs tagging onto a 3 year old post. Youll get more visibility.

Well done using the search feature though.
