Demolition Ranch's Airgun Episode dropped

Everything and everyone is being tracked and monitored. That is a statement of fact. Hopefully the Snowden movie will help people see that, but in all likelyhood, most will see it as a movie and not real, which makes me think that might be a bit of the motive behind the film. Hell, even the Director of the Alphabet org puts tape over his laptop camera (see here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2016/09/15/put-tape-over-your-webcam-Alphabet org-director-warns/ ). Thing is they (NSA) are taking in so much data that they have to parse through the noise to get to the "threats" so they look for specific phrases and trigger words and whenever a trigger word hits they focus a light on it. His elation and conversation on circumventing laws and the Alphabet org more than likely had a few trigger words in it.

In another life, I reported for work every morning to 9800 Savage Road.

We seem to be conflating the motives of the people who work at NSA with the motives of the people who seek political power and control over the population. I can tell you from personal experience the two are not the same. That is part of a much larger conversation which probably should be left for another time.

NSA (as an entity) couldn't give a rats arse about his video or the things he says in it. The "phrases and words" they are looking for are not present in sufficient quantity to make his video rise to the level of a fart in the thunderstorm of information which they are parsing. Think about it for a moment, if the content of his video were suspicious enough to make it rise to the level of actually having a human analyst look at it, wouldn't they have nailed down that clown that set all the bombs in NJ and NY last week? After all his whole damn family had suspicious Facebook pages.

If you want to fear something, don't let it be the rank and file intelligence professional who really does come to work every day wanting to protect and serve. Let it be the politician who issues the orders. When was the last time any of us had a visit from a government agent asking about the content of our online lives? This is paranoia.

His video is great. His comments are dead on and in no way are they reason to worry about what "Big Brother" is going to do down the line. Hell, for that matter my worry is that the presence of these big bore air guns are going to be another reason that they say we don't need powder burners... not the other way around. Think about it for a moment, the anti-gunner who would take your powder burner is going to say at some point that you don't need it because you can do all the hunting you want with an air gun.

"Adam"Bro, they brainwashed you pretty good if you believe the NSA doesn't work for the people seeking political power and control of the population.

-- Adam (a quote from one of your other posts)
"I remember sitting in school watching the twin towers magically collapse in place and somehow catch fire and collapse a building several blocks away that conviently housed the actual debt records of a bunch of wallstreet and hedgefund types and gov’t officials (check the wiki for 7 World Trade Center, particularly the last sentence of second paragraph)."

Brainwashed? (picture a bald headed 64 year old veteran shaking his head wondering exactly how to respond to that)

Adam, the government is not the only source of disinformation in your world. There are actually people whose mission in life is to convince you to believe the most absurd conspiracy theories. Seems to me you might have read one or two of them. Occam's Razor comes immediately to mind. I'll leave that with you as a research project.

However; I'm not going to call you names or insult your intelligence.

You have a great day.

"zebra"Guys, don't worry about it, just wrap your heads in aluminum foil like me, then.... even if they are listening, you'll be blocking the signals from the chips they implanted in all of our heads at birth to keep us locked in this virtual reality simulation, or something....

I have actually met people who wrapped their heads in foil.
Same house that removed all the outlets, ceiling fans and most of the light fixtures in their houses (because they were listening devices).
Met a old lady years later who I found out froze her cat after it died.....(in her regular kitchen freezer).
When she got lonely or missed the cat she would pull him out and pet it.

Oh yeah these people are out there......and I really don't miss that job.

"iride"People the real threat to our air gun sport is people wanting to make it legal to hunt with,
Not these stupid little videos, If it can take game animals, The states are looking at it and the feds are looking at it.
Maybe it will just be dumped in the black power pile ,
Mike

I have to agree that at some point when we buy a air rifle(maybe over .22) we will be shipping it to a FFL dealer to pick up.

That could happen if we let it happen. We don't have to let it happen.

Fortunately teh black powder world is sitting there between the powder burner world and the airgun world. We will be shipping BP guns via FFL dealers before we are shipping AGs (one can only hope neither happens). Who knows? If we are really lucky we might leverage suppressors from the AG world to the PB world. That wouldn't really make much of a difference to me (my ears are gone already) but I am sure some folks would really appreciate it.

All that aside, Adam you are right to be worried about the direction of things and I couldn't agree more with the sympathy of your comments. Washington does need close watching all the time.

"sharroff"I'd be shocked if these forums were not being harvested by the government with names and IP's being tracked and cross correlated with other sites (think banking, paypal, etc) where real names and addresses are used. There is nothing ghost about online.

Why do you think they keep missing the terrorists? Because they are to busy watching the "real terrorists" like NRA members, returning service men and other nasty people like us.

Nothing against the govt workers at NSA or IRS but they have and are being used by the current administration as well as the Clinton administration as weapons against political opponents. A despicable and illegal action but then a few political high ranking dem politicians use as they are above the law. I could go further as to why the NSA etc. miss the terrorists but Im sure some PC police would flag me. DAN25
