degassing a mrod with a short aftermarket striker ?? how to?

I just use my hand pump, pump up until the check valve opens, the open the bleed valve from the pump and slowly degas the gun.

Slowly unscrew the fill port/ or gauge.. until it starts leaking.

I pull the end cap and hammer spring and use a short piece of 1/2” wood dowel in the hammer, strike dowel against the floor making sure the transfer port is facing away from your leg ( if breech is removed). Degassed in 2 seconds.

Shoot it ?

For any of my guns that have an RVA, I replace the hammer spring with a solid spacer (dowel, etc) cut to the appropriate length. Then simply screw in the RVA until the hammer opens the valve and degases the gun....

For guns I work on frequently I fabricate some form of simple degassing tool such as the one below which works on most any 7/8 tube gun such as Disco's, 22xx, QB's, Gauntlets, etc....
