Deer in the way

Uh guys, do ya mind? I'm shootin' here!

I had been shooting .25 Crown at paper targets and gong for about 30 minutes(out of the porch window, thru my carport with boat in it). Lining up target thru scope to take another shot at the target, when I saw a big, blurry head! Startled, I snapped my head up to see these 2 jokers just ambling about between me and the targets. When they cleared, I kept shooting. They didn't pay it much mind. I shoot so much, I guess its like traffic noise to them.

wyshadow,

That green stuff is Florida, my friend. It's also hot as hell like New Mexico, without all that bothersome nice dry air. Most days >70% humidity. Scope fogs, paper targets sag, gun(and body) sweats.... lovely. It's "air you can wear" season until about October. That's why I started shooting out of my back porch window(I have a window AC unit blowing on me from an adjacent window😁).

It happens all the time, was at a CMP match that had to be shut down for a while because there was about 10 turkey on top of one of the berms.

Last summer I am shooting my new Savage 99 in 243, not real quiet when I have the hell scared out of me, I turn around and there is a big doe not 6' away from me....she was just standing in the bushes watching me shoot.

This last one I have told many times, not sure if here so here you guys go.

When we first moved out to the boonies the wife wanted tulips, she even ordered special ones from some Holland bulb company. Turns out deer love tulips, they would come up to the house and eat the tulips. At first I would run out in my tighty whities (enough to scare anyone) and they would run, after about a week they just ran about 10 yards away and looked at me. Ice cubes are next and I start chucking ice at them, they very quickly, as I remember under a week figure out just how far I can fling an ice cube. Out came the old Red Ryder, now they scoot, but soon learn range of the red ryder and move to just outside that range, If I do hit them they look at me as if to say, hay bozo cut that out, but they don't leave. Ok, now you got me real mad, 92FS comes out and about 5 rounds into the dirt....now they boogie. But again that does not work for long, now they run about 75 yards off turn to me as if to say you can't shoot for sh__. More shots make no difference, they just stood there. The solution......plant daffodils.

Same story at the range and me out back shooting, after they get use to that noise it is no real big deal, and kind of cool. I have had humming birds buzz me, really scary sounds like a big wasp or something, then you see him at the feeder. Have had owls sit in the trees and watch me shoot all matter of center fire rifle stuff, he just sat and watched me, thought at least the report of the rifles would hurt his ears, but he was there.
