Dedal Stalker Owners..

I currently own a NightForce SHV 5-20x56 and NXS 2.5x10x42, thinking the NXS would be sufficient for shorter ranges on my Leshiy while staying on my AR most of the time.

What I've found is that I have a void to fill with a fixed power scope, something that I can use for quicker target acquisition and holdover. I did some research and decided to give the Dedal a try, and ordered one last night.

For those of you that have had this scope for a while, what are your long term thoughts from using it? Are there things that you love or dislike about it?

Hoping it performs well in low light conditions, which I hope to be a non-issue being fixed power (as long as the glass is good and enough light is captured).

I bought one, used it for a few months, then bought another!

Great glass, great reticle, parallax is super forgiving. Specs say its 6x but I found it to be closer to my other scopes on 8x. Sometimes I wish it had a bit more magnification, but otherwise I love it. I use it mostly under 60 yards. IMO precision shooting (tiny objects) further than that usually requires a bit more magnification.

Looks like a great little scope. I don't have one, but for those looking for something similar for much less $$$, I can recommend the Bushnell Accelerate 4X scope. I have one installed on my .20 EDgun Lelya 1, and used it two weekends ago to drop ground squirrels at 57 and 70 yards, and a head shot rabbit at 52 yards. Crystal clear glass, nice IR mil reticle, small and lightweight. Can be purchased for under $300 if you look around.

Is that an RIS monopod meant for buttstocks on your foregrip there? If so, that is very very clever.

Guessing it's https://www.edgunwest.com/store/p124/BT12-QK%3A_Standard_Height_Accu-Shot®_Precision_Rail_Monopod.html

@Centercut - that's a cool little optic! Looks great on that Lelya 😎

@Michael - Thanks! I figured that would be about the max on it (or a little less with my eyesight).

I've steered away from FFPs for the most part (reticle magnification drives me nuts), but I tend to do more paper shooting than hunting these days. I figured this would be a nice little addition for shorter range hunting and plinking with holdover, as I'm pretty good with estimating distances on the fly.

Wow, this little optic is nice! Quality feels solid all around. The glass on it is very clear.

If I had to nitpick, the reticle isn't as good on my eyes at night like my NXS and SHV, but I'd attribute that to the larger objective bells and lower IR settings. Other than that, it's 💯 and Iif I had to buy it all over again, my only regret would have been not getting it sooner!

I had a Slatlker a while back. Didn’t keep it mainly because the 6x wasn’t enough for me longer out.

Pluses:
Great holdover reticle.
Great glass.
Excellent illumination.

Minuses:
Unpredictable clicking with no markings. Once sighted you must use holdovers.
No ranging ability on focus knob.

Probably an excellent scope for hunting scenarios, but since I don’t hunt I am clearly not the target market.

in UK our power much lower i would use this out to 60 yards so ideal for low power it's just i cannot find out what range the other markings are ?

Yes, it's a mil reticle with mil turret adjustments in 0.1 mil per click, 5 mils per rotation. Just no zero stop or zero reset. Once sighted in, just use it for holdover. Strelok Pro even has the Stalker reticle in their database you can use.
