Episode 1 of the American Airgunner Challenge is history!

I took 1st place in the "Wrung Whatcha Brung" challenge against 5 of the top airgunners from around the world! The Daystate Red Wolf really shined when I was able to PIN the center of some of those shots. When I shot the Queen of Hearts in the face, it wasn't luck. I meant to hit her right in the nose! I was on duty when the show aired, and everyone at the fire station cheered when I claimed the 10 of hearts! Some of them even came up out of their chairs! lol!

Many of you already know the accolades of the Daystate Red Wolf. Having a great rifle is one thing. But, a shooter must also have built a relationship with that rifle through tuning and lots of practice. Those all came together, for me, with the two shots I mentioned above. That's when it really counted and, that's when the Red Wolf really shined!

Some of you might be wondering if the rifle was somehow special or different than what's being sold off the shelf. It wasn't. I picked that rifle out from the first batch to hit the states. The barrel that was on it is the same as what's being put on all of them. Actually, I'm pretty sure they've improved on the design since then. I practiced, gave the barrel a good cleaning, charged up the battery, and shipped it out for the shoot.

I was most worried about Ted's shooting skills and smarts for this challenge. I knew he was at a disadvantage going first but, he's an outstanding shot (especially with his own rifle) and he can be pretty tricky too! I was also worried about the unknown skills of my competition and the fact that 4 other shooters would have plenty of opportunity to take me out of the running. I went into the challenge with a plan A of a high card flush and a plan B of a possible full house or flush. As the shooting went on, I scrapped the idea of a full house and rolled the dice on a royal flush. It was a very risky move but, I knew that most of the other competitors would be concerned with their own hands rather than taking out someone else.

Shooters of AGN, This show has the potential to reach a huge audience! It has the potential to educate our friends in the PB world about what modern day airguns are capable of. That can be good for this industry as a whole. So, please, share the links to the show, tell other shooters about it, share the FB and IG posts. Maybe through entertainment and education we can finally get away from the stereotype of shooting "red ryders". Maybe we can get away from being mistaken for air soft. And maybe, just maybe, we can educate the state dept.'s of wildlife that our sport and our rifles are more than capable of taking larger game humanely.

The nest episode is next Wednesday! I hope you all get a kick out of it!

"Tomcat"

Just watched the first episode.

I liked the way Rossi mixes it up with nearest shot wins the card and you can “steal” a card to enhance your hand. Set it up on the DirecTV DVR to record the full series. Kind of nice to see an Airgun show on TV.

Shooters...

I haven't had TV service in 14 years.

I signed up for "FrndlyTV" just to watch the challenge that I was a part of! It's cheap! Like $~6-7 a month, no contract, and a week free. It was easy to sign up and allows you to DVR record the episode!

For me, it was obviously worth it. But, I think it's a great way to get some temporary access to the show at a low price. My plan is to cease the renewal after the show concludes in another 11 weeks. That's like $21. ;)

Cheers!
