A big shout out to the Himes brothers, Tom and Dennis! They have been dominating at the Field Target competitions month to month, and at the end of July, they swept 1st and 2nd place at the 2018 Crosman All-American Field Target Championship in the Hunter PCP division with tied scores of 108! Both are shooting as part of the Daystate "Wolf Pack" with their amazing Daystate Red Wolf air rifles. Congratulations Tom and Dennis Himes for the excellent shooting and the growing streak of wins with your Daystate rifles!

I will practice shooting at 12 ft-lbs, as it helps me to deal with the wind better when I go back to 19+ ft-lbs for competition.

This is my second Daystate. The first was an Air Wolf MCT, which I purchased in early May of 2017 and in just one year I put over 39,000 pellets through it. That rifle shot very well also!

The white string hanging off the end is a piece of yarn and yes, it is for wind detection.

Do you think 19FT makes a huge difference over 12FT? I presume the rules say you have to use a .177 then?

I am always suprised to see even guys at your level of shooting using a Hawke or Aztec scope on a $2000+ air rifle. If money were no object can I ask what glass would you put on the Redwolf?

Well certainly 19+ ft-lbs makes a difference. I actually strive for close to 19.5 ft-lbs. For two years I shot a .22 FX Royale in the Hunter PCP class and did quite well with it, but being the Hunter PCP class is limited to 20 ft-lbs maximum, a .177 will inherently shoot flatter. The .177 Red Wolf shoots great!

As for the scopes, yes my brother and I use Hawke. And money is an issue. But if it were not - I can't really answer that completely as I have yet to look through a scope which overall is better than my Hawke ED at 16X. And I have looked through a LOT of scopes!!

Now if you would like to send me a different high-end scope, I would be more than happy to try it.

LOL! good answer, I have a 25x March on my Redwolf, love it but no holdover points like the Emerald etc.

Really good glass manufacturers ($2000) just don't cater for the airgun market.

I bought recently a Delta Stryker 50X which are gaining ground here but it's really heavy, reticle is designed for FT but still no XMAS tree style ret availible.

The reason I ask about 19FT is because that requires me putting on one my license here, most just go .22 as then you can easily achieve 30FT+ which tends to really flatten the trajectory out. Simon from Daystate is suggesting going for .25HP Redwolf rather than .22 as apparently the .177 & .25 are ballistically almost identical (if pushed at the same velocity) .25 is the new kid on the block.

No good for your comps of course but you catch my drift, I love the Redwolf nothing else is as nice to shoot and I have 3 FX Crowns!

Mark, you should take a serious look at the F-30 or M-30 From konus Pro. Glass is clearest I have ever seen Clearer than ED I have 3, Clearer than Frontier and Aztec It has a few drawbacks but the price point at 460$ is ridiculous for the glass. China scope and Japanese Glass. FYI AZTEC is maybe coming out with a GREAT clarity 50x but price point will be much higher. LOOK @KONUS FFP is F-30 and Second Focal is M-30 which goes to 50x ??? and FFP goes to 32x. I have the F-30 8x32x56 and it is as clear on 32 as it is on 8 AWESOME scope!!!!

Andy's Air Gun Review has done review on them.

I used it first time in a 25 m bench-rest competition this past weekend. I shot 28 x magnification

Took 1st place overall

247,13 X's, 250 13 X's and 244 6 X's for a 741 and 32 X's
