I will practice shooting at 12 ft-lbs, as it helps me to deal with the wind better when I go back to 19+ ft-lbs for competition.
Do you think 19FT makes a huge difference over 12FT? I presume the rules say you have to use a .177 then?
I am always suprised to see even guys at your level of shooting using a Hawke or Aztec scope on a $2000+ air rifle. If money were no object can I ask what glass would you put on the Redwolf?
Well certainly 19+ ft-lbs makes a difference. I actually strive for close to 19.5 ft-lbs. For two years I shot a .22 FX Royale in the Hunter PCP class and did quite well with it, but being the Hunter PCP class is limited to 20 ft-lbs maximum, a .177 will inherently shoot flatter. The .177 Red Wolf shoots great!
As for the scopes, yes my brother and I use Hawke. And money is an issue. But if it were not - I can't really answer that completely as I have yet to look through a scope which overall is better than my Hawke ED at 16X. And I have looked through a LOT of scopes!!
Now if you would like to send me a different high-end scope, I would be more than happy to try it.
