Daystate Regal XL .22 at its finest!

Ok Ive been seeing all these people with Regal XLs lately and I've been wanting one for a very long time. Picked up a used one in .25 absolutely great gun so good I let my wife use it now she wants it. So being the husband I am I gave her it. It's a nice fit for her. However I still wanted one and I decided to pick up a new .22 from Precision Airguns. I can't believe how nice these guns are! So easy to shoot off hand and hunt with while carrying for quite along ways. So I went to sight the scope in with JSB 18.13s. All I can say is this is probably the most accurate gun I've ever owned. Others thought TunedAccuracy was making it up with his single pellet hole groups. Well here look at my results as well. 2 separate 5 shot groups at a lasered 25yds.

5 shots at 50yds

This is my tax refund gift to myself and honestly think it's one of the best guns for the money!

He's a 40 shot string from it. A hair over 3% ES but nonetheless very nice string!

If its the same as the original Huntsman, which I would imagine it is the factory Airstream is epoxied to the shroud. It will take some heat to get it loose. Then you need an adapter that goes between the factory shroud and the new moderator. I tried ordering one from Best Fittings, but it wasn't made to tight enough tolerances and it caused clipping issues. Save yourself some hassle and get the actual Daystate adapter from AOA. Its about $50, but it works like a champ. Replacing the Airstream with one made by Mr. Clague reduced the noise considerably.

As you probably know, shooting that gun at 25 yards is just to confirm there's nothing WRONG with it. ;)

If you want to see what it can do, you have to stretch out to 50, 75 and 100 yards. You will have seen nitrocrusher at GTA testing his tuned BSA R10 @ 100 yards and getting well under 1" groups. He just tuned his Regal to relieve barrel band pressure and will try that soon at 100. Go check out that thread.

Thanks, I just killed a couple of hours reading on GTA. I pray I have the ability and time to be able to do some of the work on these things if/when the time comes. I think I will be thrilled to death if I can shoot 1/2" groups at 50 Yards.

Yeah, that was a Holy Grail for me, until I realized it can't be done, except in low wind and perfect rest situations. I focus more on how well I can do now with realistic field positions. But still, the groups from range @ bench is one indicator of what is possible.
