So, it seemed that the .22 JSB MONSTER REDESIGNED pellet just got better the faster you shot it, well at 1100 FPS it doesn't shoot well, too much of a good thing then and time to move up to the 34g JSB BEAST or slugs!
The .177 REDWOLF testing has been interesting also, the JSB 13.4g REDESIGNED MONSTER doesn't seem to shoot well past 900 FPS, in fact the best accuracy seems to be at around 820 FPS or a fraction under the USA 20 FPE competition limit which is handy, but does the RD MONSTER at a lower speed than the 10.3g JSB HEAVY offer any advantage at 55 yards?
The .177 16.2g JSB BEAST however seems to get better the faster you shoot it, I took it up-to a fraction under 1000 FPS and it was shooting brilliantly.
The NIELSEN 18g slugs at 960 FPS+ also seemed to get better and better, especially approaching 40FPE.
With 90V on the board some staggering velocities can be achieved, but it is always better to go faster? Laity will be doing some testing with the RW and a 700mm barrel soon, watch this space!
