Daystate magazine issue

elh... mine did the same and we made a big noise about it on this forum a while ago.. so much so that my topic got blocked so im not going there.. but i will say this.. It is the least of your problems.. My index pin broke not so long ago but thats nothing.. today my HP .22 stopped working alltogether.. so I took it apart.. In my hand right now I have the heads of the two bolts that is suppose to hold the safety mechanism in place..broke clean off... I dont keep count anymore but that is after a few thousand shots.

Dano, sorry to hear of your problems. Except for the mag thing, mine has been perfect and I couldn't be happier with it. I know there are supporters and detractors of all makes of air rifles. I've owned many makes, and none are perfect. Regarding the mag thing, my best experience with good accuracy with the magazine has been with FX. There are things about some of their rifles that I don't especially like, but I really like the old Royale 400 platform, and many dealers don't even carry them now, with the Crown, Boss, etc. getting all the play.

I wonder, in those cases where the magazine is scratching the probe, if that would be cured by removing the mag spring? Of course, it would not be auto indexing, so the shooter would need to rotate the mag cylinder. But frankly, that's not much of an inconvenience (although one should not have to do it).

Dano46, the safety plate is attached by two small machine screws which, I assume are the two "bolts" to which you refer. If so, there is virtually no tension on them, and they should never break. I wonder if yours were left partially loose, which might have allowed them to move every time you moved the safety lever? They are very small, and if they were moving back and forth with the lever movement, I can see where they might break. If this is the case, it is obviously a QC failure at Daystate, but not a design issue.
