Daystate Delta Wolf Full Field Review (pictorial)

Hi

Superb review. Just what was needed. A gun for all seasons and reasons.

On the downside even more impatient to get one. Grrr?

Here in France cannot even get hold of a Wolf Safari. No dealers have them, maybe 8 weeks

The Delta maybe middle of the year. You lot in USA seem to get them ALL

Lucky boy with all that lovely hunting land,

safe shootng

Great info here Dana. If you do a future vid/post, can you clarify the factory setting vs profiles, and setting the reg pressure on the screen vs the reg screw on the gun? I tried to input the tame tune you posted for the 44.75gr pellet. My reg pressure is in red at 158 bar, and I cannot change it to get to the 135 you posted. Also, is there a way to de-cock the DW or a way to delete a set/profile?

I'm going to guess the gun you have is set to 160, you would manually turn the reg down for that. I don't believe you can de-cock the gun. Note to remove bottle and fire a few times to clear plenum before turning reg clockwise down. 1/8 turn is about 10 bar for reference.

Yes it does seem to be a technique i am getting better at it. The first time sort of had me worried. So far that is the only complaint. Need to get out of the basement and try some slugs at longer range than 17 yards. Pellets are 1 hole groups but not so much with slugs. But as i said i am shooting close range due to the Ohio weather. Mine is a .25.

Just get out and have some fun, I'd suggest cleaning it well before trying slugs. My experience with those barrels, especially with slugs is to be cleaned frequently.

Dana-I really appreciate the info you provided in these videos and the help provided here. Can you provide me your PP info so I can send a few bucks your way?

Hey no worries, happy to help when I can. Still lots about this gun I don't know but feel as though it's going to make lots of people happy. Always welcome to email me at [email protected] Appreciate the support! 😊

There are a lot of cool things about this rifle. I love the concept to the point I might be able to get past it being horribly ugly. (I got over it for the Texan) But I stalk hunt in the swamps and river bottoms, and that doesn't involve a tri-pod. It usually doesn't involve a sling either, but rather carrying the rifle for miles in a ready to shoot position. I saw that you did have some off-hand shooting there. So honest opinion: How comfortable is it off-hand, and would you want that lower pic rail in your hand all day?

The gun is fine to carry around and shoots offhand really well. For me personally I wouldn't be carrying it with an extension rail or bipod. For bench shooting an extension rail would help immensely to improve groups. It's a fairly short, lightweight package that made it through the thick stuff no problem. If the gun is to be used in extreme wet weather then something needs to be improved with the usb port cover.
