Daystate ART barrel only in .25

Just read this on the Daystate owners forum.

Dear members, for info and clarity...

The new ART barrel is ONLY available on the Red Wolf Safari .25 caliber GCU 2.0 High Power

Possibly in the future other calibers may become available for High Power GCU 2.0 models, but on the basis all other models are already very accurate it may be some time.

There are a number of rumours and misconceptions re ART barrels, some of which borne from social media, gossip and video, but the above is correct at this time. For further info the ART concept of testing and design has been around for a while and already incorporated into existing rifles. ART is simply a development platform that will continue to improve barrel type and manufacturing for time to come, and the latest being the Safari. You never stop developing for improvement.

I personally think the "super" barrel is a bit of hype. People have been getting insane accuracy with all types of barrels (lw, cz, st) for years. How much better can a "super" barrel get and do you have to be an expert marksman, or lock your gun in a vise (that sounds like fun) to even notice the difference?

Good point! If the shot is coming from the same regulated gun and barrel the pellet should land in the same spot. It doesn't and that's likely due to small imbalances in the pellet itself and of course if you are shooting outdoors the wind's effect is often underestimated.

If I can comment here "super barrels" are not really the point, the point is that the latest generation of barrels are designed to do something different to what an airgun barrel would be traditionally expected to do.

With ever more powerful guns and better pellets distances are being stretched ever further, trouble is the technology hasnt evolved to suit the distance.
