Daystate and AoA

Neither this manufacturer, nor this distributor/retailer/service center NEEDS any endorsement from an unknown in the air gun world such as myself.

That said, while I am new to airguns, I am not the least bit new to firearms. I’ve been buying and shooting powder-burners for into my fifth decade now. And in all that time I have not found a gun manufacturer, nor a gun retailer who is as attuned to and as responsive to their customer as Daystate and Airguns of Arizona (AoA) have been to me!

I had some accuracy/inconsistency concerns and questions about a Daystate rifle that I had recently purchased, that I expressed here on this forum. I was just looking for a little feedback from others with the same rifle.

And what did I get? I received a direct private message from Daystate USA, over the holiday weekend yet, letting me know that they had become aware of concerns that I had regarding my Daystate rifle and that they had notified AoA (the importer/distributor/retailer/USA service center for Daystate) to expect my call and to do whatever was needed to rectify the situation.

Well...to say that was an unexpected and very pleasant surprise to me would be an understatement! Especially over a holiday weekend. This kind of manufacturer/retailer attentiveness to the customer is almost entirely unheard of in the powder-burner/firearms online community - let alone that of any other consumer product category!

So on Monday, not sure if they would even be open on this holiday, I placed a call to AoA, but being Labor Day, they happened to be closed, and I left a message. First thing on Tuesday, the day after the holiday, I get a call from AoA responding to my message and letting me know that they were ready, willing, and able to correct the problems I was having or (as was my specific request) to provide another rifle. And in spite of their having an exceptionally BUSY business day the day after Labor Day, Darren, the sales manager, went out of his way to work with me in person (I live local to AoA) to get me into another Daystate rifle that I requested. And while there in the shop, the owner of AoA (Robert) checked in with me to let me know that whatever it would have taken to make my Daystate perform to my expectations... they would have done. WOW.

There is nothing that could have taken place around this situation that would have been more satisfactory to me, as a customer. This is what exemplary manufacturer-customer and retailer-customer relations and customer-service is ALL about.

That’s all I wanted to say here - basically to express a very heartfelt thank you to Daystate USA, and to Robert, Darren, and Kip at Airguns of Arizona. These fine folks have earned a customer for life and when I’m ready to buy another air gun (and I’m sure I soon will be!) these good folks will most certainly be the ones that I will be in touch with to make that happen.

SO... Thank you Daystate and Airguns of Azrizona! You guys care so much about your product, your service, and your customer and you set the bar higher than I ever imagined it would be! You have more than earned my respect, appreciation, and all of my future air gun business!

And by the way, I could not be happier with my Red Wolf .22 High Power Rifle! 🐾. Using this rifle is a sheer joy, as the many other Red Wolf owners certainly can attest to. And for my next Daystate.... hmmmm, that Regal is one heck of an irresistible gem! 😍

I've done a lot of business over the last year's with AoA and have Nothing but good things to say about them !!! Great bunch of guys who will go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of !!

I've bought several of their used rifles also and got the same service as someone buying new more expensive guns would . Great Customer Service is ALWAYS worth a shout out !!!!

When you get a chance let's see that rifle !!!!!

So to be sure did they replace the rifle?

My experience has been excellent as well with AOA.

Great news, I don't think that would happen in the UK, although of course it would be a much easier task to get it looked at here.

All the more impressive in that Redwolfs are so hard to come by currently, did you have to pay any difference to get the HP version?

Glad to hear it. I'm new to Air Rifles and recently purchased a Brocock Bantam. Unfortunately, it arrived with an Air Leak. I called and they sent an RMA right away to have it sent back and repaired/serviced. While talking with the Service Manager (Forget his name - Former LEO) we talked about other guns. I called back the next day and purchased a Daystate Red Wolf .22 HP in walnut. Made sure to say I wanted an awesome stock. While on vacation they both have been sent and have arrived, so today I'll be unboxing them both and taking a look. In for a penny, in for a pound.

Kind of expensive so I'm glad to know the service will be there when something goes south.

Hi Mark... yes, of course I paid the upcharge to go from Red Wolf Standard to Red Wolf HP. It is what it is. A $200 difference, like it or go home.

I made the choice to upgrade. And AoA was gracious, courteous, and quite agreeable in happily granting my request.

I have since given my new .22 HP some extensive at-home 48 yard accuracy testing and can gleefully say that I am VERY happy with the .22 High Power Red Wolf. My numerous targets with JSB 25.4 gn (NOT-redesigned) pellets have all been sub-1" at 48 yards and subsequent targets with 18 gr JSB, at LOW power, have been similarly wonderful. How nice to have the easy choice between launching a 25.4 gr at HIGH 50 fpe power, or the 18 gr at pellet at LOW 32 fpe power!

Kip at AoA did advise me that the HP version would likely require more frequent "cleaning" if I wanted to maintain tight accuracy. And yes, tight accuracy is something that I always strive for,,, so, cleanings have begun! I expect I will do a quick cleaning every 100 to 125 rounds or so. Small price to pay for exceptional accuracy and such high power.

Last night, I gave the rifle a brief testing and a rabbit happened to stupidly wander near my testing range. They just seem so oblivious to what's going on around them. Poor thing had no idea what was to come.

They have been eating my cacti and have become quite a pest in that regard. Just one 25.4 gr Monster JSB pellet, at 50 fpe, from this rifle to the head instantaneously and humanely dispatched him. And then, over night, the wandering coyotes gleefully consumed his body for their preservation yet another day.

Mother Nature provides rabbits to sustain hawks, eagles, and coyotes where I live. I just gave the coyotes a bit of an edge last night. And spared a rabbit from being eaten ALIVE. (Yes, I've seen hawks swoop down, grab a rabbit, and eat it ALIVE. Mother Nature works in seemingly brutal ways. Hopefully, we humans can be more humane in sustaining the wildlife.)

This is an awesome rifle in its features, accuracy, and potency.

With the 25.4 gr Monster pellets from JSB, on HIGH power, my RW .22HP gives about 85 shots before coming down to about 151 BAR.

And, with 18 gr JSB pellets on LOW, my RW is giving about 150 shots before coming down to 154 BAR.

So far, I am exceptionally pleased with the performance of this rifle. Yes, Red Wolfs are expensive rifles. And yes, they're exceptionally nice rifles in many aspects, as well! No regrets here.

Thanks, I am waiting on a "standard" .22 RW here, the same as your first which requires a license permission, so it will be interesting to see how that shoots. I have requested permission to buy .177, .22, .25 & .30 which will take about 8 weeks to get approved I suspect.

So far my 12FT .22 version is shooting well but it is still not as good as the .12FT simply 177 because of the projectiles, I expected this.

Daystate UK suggested not going with the HP in .22 but instead in .25 due to the availiblity of the heavier pellets in the UK (demand based).

Really great that the .22HP has put a smile back on your face!

Mark, I am so sorry and compassionate for you folks in the UK when it comes to firearms.. and even the incredible air rifle restrictions that you face. Bless you for pushing the limits of what your government will allow! The USA is the last stop when it comes to liberties and conservative values. I pray that we can sustain that as long as possible.

I pray that the foolish citizenry here in the USA don't go along with the restrictions that the venomous and virulent anti-firearms contingent here are relentlessly pushing. Europe is a wonderful place, but European "sensibilities" don't go over at all well here, in my view. The USA is the "last stop" when it comes to civil liberties and freedoms... I pray that we can hold onto those fundamental liberties as long as possible.

Couldn't agree more, I work for a US company, I have been on TV with the NRA-USA 3 times, Mr LaPierre whatever you think of him as a person has done great things to keep the liberties of US citizens away from the grasp of politicians.
