Daystate 110 compressor wich one do i have?

Eddy, back when AoA sent whitetail a 3 stage by mistake, I remember a thread about this. I was double checking everything to be sure they sent me a 4 stage like I ordered. To my understanding the 4 stage has 4 pistons. Looking at it from the belt side, there will be one at 9, 12, 3 and 6 o'clock. The one at 3 o'clock has a pressure release valve(I guess) that sticks out the bottom of that piston unless they changed that on the newer ones:

right in front of the fan with the keyring looking thing hanging on the bottom. Here is another pic of that piston where I think yours just has a flat plate:

Hope this helps mate

I notice from your msg that your motor label says 14.5 amp and mine is 15.2

Here is the pic from AoA where they still list it as a 3-stage on the web site (unbelievable) and I doubt they updated those pics either. Pretty sure this pic from their website is 3-stage:

See that plate on the right-hand side? Mine has a piston there, the one with the release valve thing on the bottom. I call it a valve, but I don't know what it is. Steve from Aeac did a vlog where he talked about that valve on the 4-stage but he deleted it later. I would have thought all the 3-stage would be gone by now. They used to list a daystate v110 used for $1899 but they weren't used, they were the remaining new 3-stage. The $1999 v110 is supposed to be 4-stage.

edit: I hope someone else knowledgeable will chime in cause I find it hard to believe that AoA is still making the 'mistake' of shipping a 3-stage when a customer orders a 4-stage.

I think forum members 'whitetail17' and maybe 'jungle' ordered 4-stage daystate compressors. Whitetail is the one they shipped a 3-stage and AoA paid to have it shipped back and replaced with the correct 4-stage. Not sure if jungle ever ordered but I remember him asking me about the 4-stage. I ordered mine right after whitetail and on the invoice beside daystate v110 they put ******4-stage***** so the guy who prepped and packed wouldn't screw the pooch again. I had called them after whitetail's debacle and was pretty paranoid about getting a 3-stage. Although really, I don't think 3 vs 4-stage is that big a deal with that compressor but a customer should get what they specified and paid for.

Hello-

This very issue was one of the main reasons I was turned off with regard to purchasing the Daystate 110. I had seen this problem noted on this forum, and did not want the 3 stage model. I specifically asked AOA to state, in writing on the invoice, that the compressor I was purchasing was 4-stage. They actually refused to do so. I did not purchase from them, because of this.

Good luck, and kind regards,

I called and asked why they sent the 3 piston instead of 4 they told me that the they're having too many problems with the 4 stage that's why they are shipping the 3 stage. Also they are going to send me the yellow cover for the switch on/off, I'm going to keep this one but next time that i want to buy something I'll think twice before calling them.. if you paid for a cow they have to give you a cow not a bull lol

Sounds like they're peeing on your leg and telling you it's raining outside. I wouldn't buy that excuse for a minute. Call Coltri and ask them if they've stopped making the 4 cylinder vesion and reverted back to the 3 cylinder only. It's like a car dealer delivering you last years stale inventory and telling you you got a better car than the newer model you paid for. They either made a shipping mistake or are hoping you wouldn't notice. I'd like to believe it wasn't an intentional bait and switch.

You're right... I'm keeping it because I need it if I send it back its going to take maybe 1 month to get the new one. The oil is coming Monday if it doesn't work well I'm going to ask for the 4 stage ..

Hello-

They actually told me the EXACT opposite. The guy I spoke to at AOA told me they were not shipping the 3 stage, because there were too many warranty issues with it. He stated, therefore, that they were only shipping the 4 stage, and that I need not worry which one I would receive. After that discussion I spoke to a Coltri rep who advised that the Daystate 110 was very new and did not, yet, have a reliabilty history/track record.

Kind regards,

Does the coltri repre told you if they stop making the stage 4?

Hello-

No. I explained to him that I was looking at both the Daystate 110, and the Coltri MCH-6. At which time he advised that the Daystate was sold through a distributor in the UK, and was not flowing through the Coltri distributor network thus not covered by a Coltri warranty. The Coltri rep also stated that the Daystate 110 was very new, and lacked a reliability history, especially with regard to the 3 stage versions. It may have simply been a selling point, but he did state that the machine I was purchasing would be assembled, test run, drained of oil, and then shipped to me.

I think you should call and talk to Coltri, as well.

Kind regards,
