Custom Bag Rider for my FX Impact

I decided I didn’t like the thin Saber Tactical one that is currently available. So I decided to make one using the Dreamline chassis bag ride as an inspiration.

The first one came out o.k. I’ll see how it works out and tweak it as needed.
Here’s what I got. Made it out of 3/16” aluminum and it required a custom aluminum after market butt pad, picked it up on EBay.

This was just a first attempt so I just painted it Flat Black.

The reason I needed the Aluminum butt pad was so I could thread the screws. The rubber butt pad wouldn't have worked. But what I'm finding out is that it's not stable because the Impact only uses one mounting screw to hold the butt pad. I may need to drill and tap another screw into the butt pad to stabilize it to the gun.

We'll see what I can figure out.

So I was having an issue with the butt pad rocking or being tilted out due to the fulcrum effect of the bag rider not having the grip as part of the front support made it unstable. (As Impact owners know there is only a friction screw that holds the butt pad on.)

so to solve this issue I installed a stainless dowel pin to fit into the magazine bracket that sit inside the rear butt side plates.

That solved the problem perfectly! Now the bag rider and butt pad is rock solid!
