Current plinking weather....

Just went 5 for 5 on small pieces of sidewalk chalk, 4 at 50 yards and he last one at 64 yards! The snow helps with reading windage... sending AA 16s. Loving my Bantam Sniper...

Haven’t had it happen on the Compatto over thousands of pellets. Same with the Bantam, I have at least 3k pellets through the Bantam without a single hiccup. Though the Bantam is my main rig the Compatto is still very much a part of the line up. I believe blowing out the barrel O ring falls under “gun handling” making sure the bolt is always closed before firing. Or, if bolt is open, safety is always on. Both of my Brococks have been amazing to me in their accuracy and just plain working all the time. Boringly accurate when just plinking or target shooting. But when drawing a bead on critters it is with “high confidence “. Because we know those shots are high stakes, a miss and you’ve just educated a critter.

I will tell ya, I am as airhead and scattered as they come, but when something keeps happening to me a few times, I pay attention.

Now, the only Fly I have ever killed at 35ish yards has been with the Compatto. But it definitely blew the O ring every so often and it wasn’t me.

I hear you, but if the gun is in battery, it can’t happen. Maybe you got a lemon? Wrong O ring size?, etc. only O ring I changed on the Compatto was at the inlet valve.

It would blow with the pull of the trigger. Would scare the crap out of me. Was my first pcp and I had no clue of what was going on. Matter of fact, the reason I ask is because you can hear a hint of the issue being glazed over from Giles’ review of the original? Bantam I think.
*7:32 He does say “bolt open” but mine WAS closed. I think it’s because the bolt was very light. I also think that’s why current models have a more robust bolt. But, maybe I did just get a lemon, I was just curious if it was a common problem, etc.
