Crown magazine in Bobcat?

The similarities between the Crown and Impact magazines make me think FX reuses concepts a lot, but has no problem changing small tolerances which would make them incompatible. It probably makes their inventory management a nightmare.

I don't have one to compare, however really the internally sprung magazines all work on the same concept. There is no reason you, or someone sufficiently motivated and with a bobcat on hand, couldn't just design a bigger mag for the bobcat. Really all you're limited by is height clearance. You could go even larger than the Crown mags if you wanted.

I own both a crown, and a bobcat. You can use the bobcat mag on the crown, but not the other way around. There is to much space below the center of the barrel and pellet hole in the mag,for the crown mag to fit on the bobcat. But it works the other way around, as the bobcat mag will be centered on the brass breach end of the barrel on the crown, which is a perfect fit on the slot on the mag. It is easier to explain with a picture. Here is a .177 bobcat mag on top of a crown mag.

Ha! Yeah as I suspected. Thanks for bringing the pics Tor47. This same sort of issue is why mirrored Impact mags don't work correctly, but can kinda be shoved into, the Crown. Breech lips are the same size, and the mags are (presumably) all about the same thickness, so anything with a shallower slot can be shoved in, but for whatever reason FX never bothered to make them identical so they're not cross compatible.
