Crown issues

Here we go again! Had to send my Crown .25 back to Fx for creep issues. They had it for two months! I was told that my washer stack was short one washer and that is what was causing the problem. I got it back, put the scope on and was happy with the way it was shooting. I shot it for a few days and then due to weather and work it sat for a couple of weeks.
Today I see a woodchuck by my garden and grab the Crown cock it and take aim. Nothing but a tiny pop!! I turn the gun over and both gauges are at zero!! I always fill my gun after shooting. Not Happy! When you open the bolt there is a tiny puff of air that escapes each time you cycle it. I grab my 400 dollar maurader and take care of the woodchuck.
When the Crown is shooting it is great, but when a low dollar gun is more reliable than a high dollar gun there is a problem!! Dam the factory has had my gun half of the time I have owned it! I called the FX factory again and am waiting on my return slip as I type. Let’s see what the turn around time is this time. FX assured me that they would get it in and out quickly. Did I mention that I’m not happy. Let’s see how many more little dings the stock comes back with this time!!
Sorry for venting but this is BS

I feel for you. Nothing worse than spending a lot of money on something only to discover that it has problems, and the only way the problem can get handled is to ship it back to the company.

I also have a Crown which so far has been reliable, but for a loose set screw which had worked it's way out, making the power wheel ineffective. Once I found the problem it was an easy 1 minute fix.

Hope you get the problems fixed, so you can start playing with your expensive toy.

Greencop,
I understand your frustration. Who wouldn't? But my guess is that when FX finally gets it sorted, you're going to love that rifle and will forget your initial frustration. I'm contemplating buying an even more frustrating gun, an FX Impact. I'm going into it accepting the potential for frustration. But I also know that if I can weather the storm, I'll be smiling broadly. Truth be told, you too are anticipating a bright light at the end of this tunnel. Are you not?

There are always some lemons no matter who good a product line is. If you had your rifle in repair (as you stated) half of the time since you owned it, I would let FX know that one more issue requiring a return and you want a replacement.

The good thing is that FX has a dedicated USA repair facility now with competent staff, and that is a huge change from just a year ago when FX buyers were at the mercy of only one company and their usual service/repair bottlenecks.

Ya, I’m not super enthusiastic about my FX crown right now either!, my trigger is sticking in the 1st stage( if you depress first stage but don’t release the shot, trigger does not spring back forward when you release but if I recock it will?, I think I could probably fix it myself or at least find the problem, but I’m not going to touch it for fear of voiding the so called warranty... Plus really shouldn’t have a issue like this in a new rifle with less than 1000 rds through it!

You guys with all the Crown issues should really take a look at the Streamline...just add a Huma reg, a DonnyFl Sumo, a nice scope, and replace the air gauge with a Wika air gauge, and you will have the lightest, good looking, most accurate, completely problem free air rifle FX ever made. The price difference between the Crown will pay for a decent scope, the DonnyFl, and the Huma, and the Wika! If results on the target mean more than all those adjustments and bells and whistles get yourselves a Streamline and kiss all your troubles goodbye. Mine is shooting the MKII Heavy at an average of 910 ft/s or approximately 62 fpe...and shoots like a laser! I haven't heard of any Crowns that will do that so far...but sometimes plain and simple is best. I promise if you try one you will fall in love with its problem free simplicity and dead nuts accuracy. FX Streamline Rules!
All the best, Chuck
