Crown barrel.

The kit is about $400 which includes probe, shroud and pellet liner. Magazines are bought separate, the side shot magazines are $50. If I’m not mistaken the kit comes standard with a pellet liner so a slug liner will need to be bought separate which is $110. I don’t think if you get a .22 probe with a .25 kit works. You need the proper parts to make the switch. (I may be wrong)

It is super easy to change calibers just loosening a few screws and tightening them after you take the .25 out and insert the .22.

Technically it’s possible, however there is a stainless steel part that the brass transfer port screws onto, this stainless part has an internal oring that’s calibre specific.

So removal of this stainless part needs heat, and the oring will most likely get damaged in this process so every time you swap liners this will need replacing.

The liner locking screw at the muzzle is also different, in .22 it also has orings, so you need to buy this too.

What you want to do is buy a .22 liner and sleeve kit, it has all of the above assembled and ready to go, then buy a probe and mag, lastly re use your .25 shroud and moderator.

I understand money needs to be saved, but there is a time vs cost equation that’s unfavourable when trying to put a .22 liner into a .25 sleeve kit.

Swapping twist rate, choke profiles and slug/pellet liners in the same calibre is the intended use case.

Having said the above, I have done what you are proposing and it’s just a ball ache when you feel like shooting another calibre and you have to tear down the barrel to do the swap. I now have three barrel/liners(.177 .22 .25) and two shrouds (.25/.22 and .177) barrel changes takes 1 minute to do...

The new Crown has omitted the sleeve system, I don’t have experience with this system, but I feel that the transfer port and muzzle lock will be different between calibres, hopefully someone who has a new crown can confirm.

This is the part needed if I’m not mistaken.
