Crossman Premier pellets in RWS air rifle

I have a RWS rifle that is advertises a muzzle velocity of around 1100 fps. Someone at a pellet rifle repair business suggested I use heavy pellets for a rifle with that much velocity. They recommended and I purchased 10.5 grain Crossman Premier pellets. I have not measured the velocity but feel like they might be too heavy. I am basing this on nothing more than they way it sounds and feels when I use these pellets. They may be the correct weight but feel much different than lighter pellets do when fired. I will be going small game hunting with the rifle soon and would like to hear your thoughts on the correct pellet weight for a high velocity rifle. Thanks.

10.5 is just right for a 48/52/54 crosman's may or may not be the best but that weight is fine. And yes the sound can change with different pellets, many reasons, but generally speaking as low as your not going sonic ( TOO light) or going "just" slower and hearing piston slam worry not.
A friend had a BSA lightening (?) with a theoben ram installed with one particular pellet it "pinged" like a quite pcp, all other pellets no such noise. Use what groups best.
You should have no problem with rabbits & squirrels & such with a 52 out to 50 yards or so.

I used to have an RWS 48/52 .177:

I apologize but although I have owned the rifle for quite some time I am now just getting into it for small game hunting. I am not familiar with the abbreviations you guys use. I don't know what a CPL or CPH. I assume Crossman Premier something. The ones I am shooting are simply Crossman Premier Pellets 10.5 grn.

btw, no squirrels sighted on last weekend's hunt. Disappointed more for my son than for me. I'm trying to get him into hunting. It's difficult when the game don't cooperate.

I have only been looking into this for a short time. I have several firearms I like to shoot regularly and haven't given the RWS much attention. Reading about air rifles on this site, hunting with mine and learning the ways they can be improved with relatively minor changes has got me pretty interested in my old Diana. I feel a possible addiction coming on. I already own 9,000 Crossman Premier pellets. That could keep me busy for quite awhile. What's a few hundred dollars for good glass, a better spring and a lighter trigger? All of a sudden it seems like a no brainer. As if I needed another rabbit hole to venture down. I'm pretty excited about it. Thanks a lot.

By the way, how can I tell which trigger I have? My model 52 was made around 2000. I can't remember if it was before or after that year. I know they switched to the T 05 around that time but I'm not sure how to be certain. I would like to attempt to lighten the trigger myself and need to know how to do it. I found some videos for adjusting the T 06 on youtube but nothing about the T 05. I would like to get below 3 lbs with a crisp break. If anyone has a youtube link detailing how to make this adjustment I would appreciate it. I can't find anything.
