Crosman model 99 valve repair

Has anybody ever outlined the procedure for repairing the staked washer on the valve assembly that seals on the pellet shuttle? I purchased a NOS valve, rebuilt it and it worked great for a few shots but blew out the staked washer on the exhaust end of the valve...is it possible to repair the staked steel retainer reliability or is it done for?

I sacked up and re did the staking on the exhaust seal...ran a 12 gram thru it with 25 pellets and it held! I'm hoping it holds together now...I ground down a small chisel to fit the original staking marks from the factory, made them a little deeper, took my time and went over all four marks lightly, and it seemed to do the trick...now I'm my question is how many shots can you get out of a 12 gram? I'm getting a solid 20...at 25 it's getting weak and anything past that is useless. Any thoughts??
