Crosman gurus plz advise a newbie

Hi, this is my first gun ever.

I got a 1322 for a bug out bag. Back up squirrel hunter for my wife. (May it never be needed; intend to get myself a leshiey or cricket or veteran for my pack, eventually) Anyway, pumping is a little tough for her so I went all out. After YouTube and these forums I modified it to basically a repeater 2240.

Alliance hobby sold me the conversion kit. However, since I wanted to make sure any dinner is not just knocked out, I had them also do their power pack plus.

Then the Thailand multi shot breech. Much easier than loading single pellets.

Without the ldc it is much louder. And I can sometimes see a puff of cloud/mist/smoke from the barrel when shooting. I don't have a chrony or previous experience, but I am guessing it may be wasting my co2. I get about 20 shots per crosman cartridge.

What do you gentlemen think?

By the way, should I feel air through the breech since there is not a oring integrated in the pellet pusher?

I have another question if you are willing to share wisdom/ suggestions more.

(Thank you for your patience in reading this.😊)

Not allot of shots for sure, you would need at least a 14 inch or longer would be better, barrel to use most of that gas. Put a hammer spring adjuster on it that will allow you to adjust the gas usage a bit. You should feel no air from the breech. It needs to have an o-ring on the bolt probe, pellet pusher, ;^) for the 22xx guns or inside the end of the barrel if it's off of a Marauder.

Thanks for the quick response biohazardman. I was kinda wondering if I would need a hammer spring adjuster. This is definitely turning into an expensive $50 crosman.

The breech uses the mrod mag. However it is meant to be installed on 22xx (not 24 as I typed orig). So missing oring or hidden inside? Your guess is better than mine. No groove visible on probe to imply here belongs your oring??

Second that 14.5 barrel will help tremendously and add some more fpe. Or you could go to McMaster car and get a slightly lighter spring and then get what bio said with the spring adjuster. You can actually just drill and tap a hole in the back of the tube cap and use a hardware bolt to tune up until you see gas then turn it back a 1/4 turn at a time until it quiets a bit and you dont see gas. Without a crono you will still be able to tune effectively this way. Also just a personal preference I like to put a tin can inside another tin can and shoot it. If it goes through both at 10meters its a good hunter. That being said I have seen dudes shoot squirrels at 3 fpe with slingshot catapults with head shots and its completely ethical. If you can hit it in the dome your probably fine. Anyway gluck brother im about to pm you about that Multishot I never heard of it. I just finished my 1322 and its pushing 15 fpe with heavy jsbs! I still pump mine tho

Nope looks like nothing belongs on the probe so the o-ring must be inside somewhere. Could be a transfer port leak as well. Put a tiny bit baby powder in different spots and shoot the gun with a pellet in it look for the plume of powder. Strips of sheets of tissue will werq for this purpose as well. If you can shoot the gun from your hip you can keep an eye on things better. Wear glasses!

Yes, these fifty dollar guns can get spendy after awhile but they are so nice when you get them right and you can just shoot and shoot and.... I just got sucked into werqing on a couple of guns as of late after many years away from the addiction. In fact I bought a couple of fancy 22xx breeches this very night. I think it is all your fault cuz once I saw your pic it was all over. ;^)

Pretty BIG pic there.

that breech is designed without a O-ring on the pellet probe but was one used in that brass sleeve for sealing

the guys are right you need a hammer spring adjuster a longer barrel

did some direction come with that breech

too much gas and a gas leaking at the breech you are not done yet and remember it's only money

for your next build

Yes that is the seller of the breech. Cheaper price than any other vendor. No cutting/grinding like the Russian version.

No instructions. Email response was basically yes and no in response to my questions. However I did find he has a Facebook page which deep in the history has install videos.

I had checked out bnm but zero reply to my email and site says out of stock for everything it seems. Also all the page dates are years ago, so didn't give me confidence this dealer is alive still.

sorry bio I went over to BNM to look at there breeches and they don't have O-rings on the probes like this lever model from Thailand so how do the BNM breech seal there probe

I have tried to stay away from the BNM stuff, self preservation but I do have a Venom with a set of SC grips early BNM

sorry I transgress again bio maybe we should talk about your sickness message me

The 1322 had a metal transfer port. The new co2 kit had bigger diameter plastic tube/straw. With the new breech it seemed too long. The fit of air tube to breech was not snug flat so I ended up slowly slicing the end off transfer tube till breech fit flat and solid. Probably not squared off cut. But any longer and it will pivot the breech right at the port.

So, more testing. Hope I can tell what is wrong. I assume you mean open up the insides and put powder in the transfer port?

Thanks again all, for your input.

marflow, Sorry don't need that I just bought one earlier and I already have three of the BNMs waiting to go on something.

Since you have bnm parts does that mean they are still in business? Can I order parts that say out of stock? Like the breeches. Without a reply to my email it is impossible to tell if they are still in business

I was using BNM breech as example seeing they seem to be manufactured maybe similar and seeing the Bio had mention he had some I asked him

your breech shows 3 different O-rings in the pictures and seeing I don't have one where do they go and where did you put them

so I'm guessing the brass sleeve goes in the back of the breech and the hole is for gas and lines up with the tube

the silver spacer is a sleeve for the barrel and there hole line up with the grub screws

now was there an O-ring put in the brass sleeve that the barrel pushed again to form a seal with the barrel end and the probe

now on BNM I have no idea what they are doing, in the past they were slow to return email after purchase or at all but everyone got there items

everyone thought the business was more of a hobby then business but that fact was never confirmed

the gas out the barrel is an easy fix but the blast of gas at the probe is a sealing issue so some disassembly will be needed

but there are measurement we don't have so you have to look at it logically understand what it do and fix it

i'll save this thread to check back in as these seem to roll off the front page fairly fast

I noticed you mentioned trimming the transfer port to give a flush fit. When I use the poly tubing for transfer ports I intentionally leave them a little long. This provides a small amount of crush to the tube to provide a tight seal and prevent leaks in that area. Since you no longer have any type of oring sealing the port this is necessary. The breech rocking a little on the transfer port is normal. Tightening the breech mounting screws will draw everything down flush. What you do not want is so much crushing of the tube that it chokes off air flow.

Yes Gipper, the plastic was maybe an inch. So I started with 3/4 cut. And finally ended with maybe 1/4". So you recommend maybe like 1/2" and squeeze breech flat to air tube.

I was just about to order a fancier transfer port. But I will use my spare plastic first and try your way. I appreciate the additional insight.

Not knowing this breech ( I want one though!) I would suggest feeding the poly tubing into the breach until it hits the barrel port and leave an 1/8" of tubing extending out of the bottom of the breech measured from the deepest part of the curve on the bottom of the breech. This should provide enough tube to fit down into the valve and still hold the breech a bit proud of the air tube before you tighten it down. One trick you can use to help get a square cut is to drill a hole in a board the same size as the tubing and feed it through. I them measure exactly what you need and use a razor blade to make your cut. When installing use a quick hand clamp to hold the breech and compress the tubing. This holds everything in place and eliminates the need to torque the crap out of the tiny breech screws and rounding out the screw head. If it feels like too much you can slice a small amount off and try again. Squeeze it down tight with the clamp and turn the screws until they stop. If you do not have enough tubing left from the original package, ice maker tubing from the hardware store runs about $1 a foot. Just take the piece you have with you for sizing.

Gipper, the wood board is a nice idea. I did forget I have a cheap tube cutter for my water filtration, so it maybe can handle this size.

I ordered a set of replacement screws since it seems like will be 5th time disassembling.

My wife was my clamp last time. But yes using real clamp may be easier, although lining up the front breech screw is a hassle.

The air leak can sometimes be felt on your face, straight from the back of the breech. So, I wonder if more is wrong than port???

Air passing around hammer then up thru back of pellet probe?? Which I assume would mean faulty valve.

Your thoughts gentlemen?

Yes, what he said about the poly ports they need to be a bit tall to seal but if they are to tall they rob you of power. The valves always leak a tiny bit just the way they are designed. It isn't enough to feel though. My guess would be the transfer port as they are often hard to get just right. I make mine out of Delrin so they have to be the perfect size and it's difficult to make them perfect so there is allot of take it apart and put it together going on. It's easiest just to purchase the T-port that is used with the breech you have. You would get it from the seller of the breech. If the transfer port is longer than the stock 2240 configuration it is difficult to get a poly port to seal by itself and it may need a thin metal tube inside or outside for support. Good luck. Another way to get a square clean cut on the poly is to stick a dowel inside of it and cut it with a razor knife while rolling the dowel and tubing on a flat surface.
