Crosman 600 carbine project

Hello again to all the good time gang! My fellow Airgun citizens of our great Airgun nation! I just wanted to share a dream project I have going on. Dream project I say cause that’s what it started out as about 7 yrs ago. I got the pistol only missing the cap. I gave it to my then 10 year old son telling him save it and we could one day get be able to build it up. We talked about putting a stock on it and making a carbine. He did put it away for a while but him and his brothers ended up messing around and to this day no one knows who broke the trigger!🤔 but no big deal cause I figured we could get another or make one. So the gun gets put away again until a couple months ago it surfaced again. If course it immediately excites me to see it again but this time it’s missing more parts. So I repossessed it!!! I figured next time I saw it it could be worse or never see it at all. The stock was also another sons and I dug it up from behind the shop. Literally! I saw something black in the sandy loam and started digging it out!!! I think the law is in my favor when it comes to digging up treasures!! So I repossessed it as well! I remember waiting for my 1377 stock to come in the mail when I was around that age😊 and couldn’t imagine ever forgetting about it like that! Lol 😂 . Shortly after I was waiting fo my 1377’s scope to come in the mail as well. It was awesome! Anyway I’m getting off topic, with my newly acquired 600 and stock I’m moving forward! It’s only mocked up of course but nevertheless I am already loving it ! I like short guns and I cannot lie!!! I also plan on adding pic rails top and bottom. I know it’s rough but its in the works . The shroud is one I made for another project gun , a “Talon p” that’s p for pup, as in bull pup. . But that’s another topic I’ll post somewhere else. Have a good one!

Nice!

Brings back memories.....

Anyone here old enough to remember the old "6Ball" Crosman 600 carbines Mr Bulk & MaxZBulk used to use on The Yellow long ago, in Hawaii?

He used a longer barrel, mini torch & laser mounted on the rig (I believe he mounted a scope rail on the 600's), a hose to tether to a CO2 tank with butt pad, and these awesome magazine extensions that held ammo refills at the ready.

I remember seeing a picture of a wheelbarrow full of rats (86 rats) he and a buddy took in a night of ratting at a chicken farm.

I've been looking for pictures of those 6Ball Crosman 600 carbines and the picture of that rat filled wheelbarrow for awhile, with no luck.

Heck, I might even trade something for a 6Ball Carbine.

Flow maybe .I’m not sure yet as to the barrel length . I have a .22 from a daisy 22sg if that’s the correct name . it’s currently at 18” and when it was in service it never missed!!! Flys and all kinds of creepy crawlers were on the hit back then 🤨. Broke it down and salvaged the barrel due to a broken trigger guard. I’ve been waiting to use it and this might be a good application. But don’t forget... “ I like short guns and I cannot lie”👍

John thanks! But I guess I’m too young or too sheltered 😆🤣😂. that sounds like one bad ass old school rig though!!!🔥🔥🔥. It would be nice if you could possibly find a picture to show.

Spy I bet! Ive only seen videos and they look like a blast! When I got it i was amazed that this was old tech , before my time .

Coil rig? Oh man I never even thought of that. And to top it off high cap mags!!!! When you say there was mostly only c02 , do you mean to say hp air can be used too?

And exactly how long ago diamond back?

Diamondback is this the wheelbarrow of rats you speak of?

I was around on the Crosman forum way back then. The forum got taken over by a thief who got hold of the codes and then stole many of our 600s that were sent to him for mods. The forum had to be ended then archived and a new one restarted thus begins the Green Crosman Forum which lived for years but is nearly dead now cuz of the photobucket scam and the change from notwer54 to tapatalk. More than a decade of information and pictures just vanished in an instant from the photobucket scam then we lost more when tapatalk took over. There is just a shell left but if you search long enough you will find there are still bits and pieces left here and there. Such a sad state of affairs. ;^( Poor poor me sorry bout the rant. ;^)

Howdy Bio!

I don't believe that's the same picture, but that is an impressive load of rats.

I remember several rats with their entrails stretched out from slow moving wadcutters pushing thru their abdomens in the pic.

Several members were impressed by it and commented about it.

Darn shame about the thief at The Crosman Forum.

Photobucket left a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

Tapatalk managed to save some data, but unfortunately the titles to replies are gone, which caused the loss of a lot of info.

I hope the crosman forum revives. It's loaded with great info.

Thanks for replying!

Good morning DB! That’s bad behind!!! Lol 😆

i had no idea when you mentioned it that the multi mag extended from the rear . Like I said I have no experience with them at all. I was thinking of some awkward device Hanging off the side of it . Ha ha ha that thing really is cool looking it makes me want to put a forward facing bottle on mine can they use HPA ? Of course I know they couldn’t except too high of an air pressure . Another thing that I thought of immediately was an AR stock on the back of that multi mag if it could be configured somehow I haven’t had a chance to look at the pictures on a larger screen yet But nevertheless that thing is sweet ! I appreciate you taking the time To find a picture and post it

Hi C.B.D.,

I think your idea of the shoulder rest on the end of the extended mag is great.

I remember reading that the LD pistol (built from a Crosman MK1 or MK2) is run off HPA air at about 800-850 psi. Turns out CO2 can develop higher pressures than that, but it’s a thicker gas, so air is regulated down a bit lower in pressure to get the same fps as higher pressure CO2.

Might be a good air pressure to start with a 600?

Good evening! DB and all my AGB’s! (Air gun brothers) you’ve got me thinking 🤔. Seems like all I would need to do is make a block to mate them up . Maybe use a smaller bottle and a regulator. From a paintball setup ? IDK I’m just BB gun dreamin!

Flow, underneath that shroud is the legendary 18” daisy barrel I have in my possession! It came from a Daisy 22sg , I think that’s what it is , anyhow this thing is amazingly accurate. When it was in its factory form it was same holing all day at 30-40 using the shelf ammo. The gun was disassembled for safety due to a broken trigger guard ,and it was tucked away in hopes of seeing service again someday. A couple years later I installed the “legend” on an “ American Classic” !!!! Oh my just thinking and hearing “American Classic” in my mind makes me feel giddy!!! 😂😝🤣😂 . Lol I mean it! “American Classic” say it again say it again say it again!

18 “ .22 on a Crosman 1322 ! The factory sights were retained due to monetary mfg limitations (open sights), but this thing was devistating! We estimate, according to our expert abilities, to have been making shots at up to 80 to100 yards! Again an estimation due to monetary field target supply deficiencies ( no range finders).

Btw I pushed a slug through that was .2195 and it had what seemed like plenty of wiggle room . Not sloppy but maybe I could easily use an even larger diameter slug in it.

Hey Real, you know I’ve been thinking the same thing, maybe just an extension incorporated into a collapsible AR stock. If I really need extra capacity at all. I’m from the old school, ( graduated top of the class) and I prefer single shot loading most of the time anyway. When I use magazines I mindlessly cock and pull, cock and pull, cock and pull! Thus running through way more ammo and air🤣😂🤣. Good thing the air is still free, for now anyway, you know they’re thinking up a way to tax me on that too!

Nevertheless I have been meaning to get to the local gunshop To grab some picatinny rails but just haven’t made it. Of course the 600 was never intended to have rails mounted to it and the one on the bottom will create a leaking point . I am thinking I can overcome this by making a probe with orings (like a large fill probe)that would take the place of a co2 cartridge . It would then be offset to allow the bottle and regulator to fit under the barrel.

Halleluja !!! The wheels are turning! I am definitely excited about my 600 carbine build and surely do appreciate any and all input. As I have stated I have never had the privilege of actually shooting one of these . So right now your experience is all I have! Thanks for the info!

Greetings to all again! Nobody excluded, from the smallest to the tallest, each and every body, la dee da dee!
By gods grace I was able to find a stock to do another mock up. Went to an acquaintances house and he asked if any of my sons were into paintball, he showed Me an AR type pbgun and I mindlessly said no.
It wasn’t until later that evening that it dawned on me that I could go a little further if I had that dang pbgun. Even if it’s not a top of the line, high quality, built in my town texas model, it would still work! All I have to do is connect the B.B. gun dots!
