Crosman 2240 power

Just like a race engine. More fuel for more power your cans will have larger debts but less shots. Fun mod with 14.5" bbl . Would be a blast with bulk fill.

Nothing wrong with the Boss valve it will increase your FPE.

Many people are making power valves for the 22xx guns these days the best is the Cothran valve. I got over 150fpe out of it with my arrowgun and it will do much more. Not that it will do that much for a.22 with a shorter barrel though.

After the valve the best power mod is to bulk and after that it is to go PCP and get a pump,tank or compressor to feed your addiction. ;^) Roy would be great with this.

My latest yes, I know the barrel shroud is a bit long I am planning on cutting it down a bit. It is a 2240 bulked with paintball parts regulated to 1200psi, Custom Air breech, FX .22 STX barrel liner for a barrel and of course a modified valve. Shoots one hole groups at 25 yards.



Side lever magazine fed breeches to better feed the addiction.

I got the blue System X drop forward off of the net 13-15 years back so doubt they are still in business. There are plenty of drop forwards around though as the paintball folks still use them. The Crosman grip has a small thick spot on the bottom that can be drilled and tapped if you are careful.

I think it would be worth your time to look all around Don Cothran's site. Excellent products.

Want to add something that is not mine. but from a friend of mine.

Are you wanting a squirrel or rat killer? I didn’t have any issue with mine as an accurate plinker before any mods. I never had a single power mod done besides longer barrel and I’ve got consistent chrony numbers of 538fps with 15.8gr jsb diablos. My barrel loved pointed pellets strangely enough. That 538fps was enough to hit pretty hard on targets I set up about 40 yards out. I personally didn’t see a need for power tunes given the cost of sending it off unless I did it myself. I’d rather go for another gun instead of seeing anymore FPS added to my already awesome gun. 

I am also into modification;realize the only way to proceed is to have a game plan,problems they kept changing,thing is after adding cost might be a better bet to get a prod or 1720 or this or that....butt alas what fun is that,custom is what custom does,the equation is thus=it's mine by design.

I got a good laugh out of that one. My 2240 and 1322 are my most used guns. You can’t go wrong with the mods. Get the valve and don’t look back. 

Update power crosman of me

Are the boss valves worth the upgrade? Going to run my 2240 with a 14.5” LW Barrel. It’s going to stay as a pistol. Any other mods to add decent power to this pistol? My other option is to send it to mountain air and have Roy make it into a pcp with a longer tube. Any input of power mod with co2 or pcp conversions would be appreciated. 


Got the pistol to shoot cans and have fun with, and some short range pesting.

Just buy a stainless PCP tube from Don Cothran.

He sells Disco length, 2260, 2250, and 2240 tubes with no gauge holes.

Short answer, yes. Do it. Get/drill a matching TP for "better" results, but thats not nessicarly needed.
