Crosman .177 10.5 pricing at Pyramyd - did I fail math in school?

I'm looking at Pyramyd's website at the Crosman 10.5gr domed .177 pellets. I see they come in a tin of 500 and a box of 1250.

Question #1: Is there anything different between the pellets in the tin and the box?

Price for box of 1250 pellets: $37.99

Price for 1 tin of 500 pellets: $11.49

Now both of these products qualify for the Buy 3 get 4th free deal.

So here's where my math skill come into question. If I buy 4 tins of Crosman 10.5gr @ $11.49 each, I pay for 3 and get 1 free which equals $34.47.

So 4 tins = 2000 pellets for $34.47 and 1 box = 1250 pellets and still costs more.

WOW - I feel like a total CHUMP buying 1 box to test out the pellets.

OK - that does make sense. There is a big DIE 1 stamp on the bottom of the box and I will say they are very close in weight. I weighed a handful just to see what the spread was and I was seeing less than +/- 0.1 grain overall.

People in competition used to request specific dies as their guns shot lights out with them. They had them in .22 back then also.

How do they shoot compared to jsb 10.3’s ?

Shooting them in my .177 Uragan Compact and they are almost as good as the JSB 10.3s. About 1 or 2 fliers per mag of 15 that go off about .5 Mil. Groups not quite as tight.

I'm going to try a clean and wax on a bunch and see if that tightens them up.

So far the only pellets my uragan compact .177 with shoot well are heavies and these are cheaper than jsb so I’ll have to check into them in the future. Thanks for letting me know.
