Crosman 1077W / first post

I am new to air guns and this is my first post. I had a BB gun as a kid and am a life long shooter (at 67), but no real experience with air guns. Having developed arthritis in my hips and knees the outdoor range is getting tough in these New England winters. So I wanted something I could shoot in my basement during the cold months. I got a Champion pellet trap and a shooting bench and set up a 10 yard range in the basement. I ordered a Crosman 1077W from Pyramid air and mounted a UTG Bugbuster 4x32 scope on it. This morning I tried it out before work. Despite reading that a slow rate got better velocity and accuracy I just could not resist cranking out all 12 shots as fast as I could pull the trigger. This was my first time shooting this rifle and the scope was not dialled in. Right off the bat I can tell that this trigger is going to limit accuracy, but for basement plinking it should be fine. Despite everything it was a decent little group. No recoil, very quiet and frankly just plain fun. Of course now I am researching something a bit better in a rifle. I have been bitten.

Welcome aboard and that has got to be one of the nicest Crosman 1077 I have seen with the wooden stock. Looks to be good shooting too. I had one years ago but it was plastic and was a fun gun to shoot. Mine liked the Crosman wadcutters. Coolest thing is that you can buy the extra magazine holders and the cylinder wheels(magazines) so you can have them preloaded all ready to shoot. Once you get bitten by the airgun bug, there is no cure! You can click on my profile and see the posts in the forum section of the profile where I made a few posts suggesting other reasonably priced good quality starter rifles to point you in a good direction and not break your bank if you want to add to your arsenal.
