cricket question

Sometime the delrine bushing are over size at the rear of the shroud, there is no oring to seal to prevent blow by. And sometime overly tight then I have to bore them out. When I see a vary loose one that affect the accuracy I install an oring groove on that delrine to seal and aligned the shroud.

if you have no POI issue then it's ok to have a little blow by----you can call it a air vent. For me I'm know to drill vent holes at the end of the shroud.

Have you tried taking the shroud off and screwing back on to check it's on right with no crossed threads and on tight enough etc? might be something simple like that. If it is coming from the threaded part, maybe you could try some plumbers tape as a temporary fix until you decide what to do.

Sounds like Ernest has some good fixes if the problem is bothering you. If it's still under warranty then just ask the store you bought it from to fix it.

I pulled the shroud off the barrel and reinstalled and tightened it. that didn't work. does the very end piece of shroud ( about as thick as a quarter) unscrew from the shroud it self? it feels like thats where the air is coming from. this gun is brand new, I'm sure AOA would let ME pay $40 to ship the gun back but.... I don't want to risk it getting damaged in shipping.

No it doesn't unscrew. Sounds like there is a gap in the seal (or something).

why don't you ask if you can just send the shroud in to get it fixed? No reason to ship the whole gun if it's just one piece that needs attention.

I don't like shipping my air guns either because Fedex breaks 50% of my packages. They even managed to break a solid steel bar on a heavy duty laminator I got for my business. Still, if you have to send it, just make sure you pad it well and double box. I would use UPS. They are way more expensive but their insurance will actually cover your air rifle and they seem to be a little more careful (at least with my stuff).

If if they let you just send the shroud then that should be much cheaper to ship.
