Cricket compact scope ?

So far my searches for something compact to mount up my Cricket have been limited to the Bug Buster. I love the Hawke Sidewinder 30 Tactical 6.5-20x42 is outstanding. But I'm thinking something more compact would fit my needs a little better. Mostly shoot out to 50 yards max. So I'd like a durable compact with good glass. Also interested to know if the medium quick release scope mounts are compatable with the Cricket.

I just saw a V24 with mildot on America Airguns classifieds. Nice scope but not really compact . Weavers track very well ! Nothing more frustrating than a scope that doesn't track reliable. It's the reason I do tuse some of the common talked about AIRGUN scopes .I like saving money also , but if you have a 1400$ rifle .... Unass a little money and get a worthwhile scope :) just my 2centsworth

I was about to post the exact same question so thanks for doing it first. I am assuming that you are looking for one that is lightweight as well as small? The Cricket is not a gun you want to add a lot of weight to if you don't have to.

I also shoot mostly within 50 yards. I have been slightly tempted to get a Bug Buster but a nagging voice at the back of my head keeps saying I should get something better after spending so much on the gun. Another voice is saying that after spending so much on the Cricket, I should save money on the scope. The second voice is my wife (very annoying).

if I can't find a decent lightweight scope that I can afford, I am going to replace my synthetic stock with a lightweight carbon fiber version and use the weight savings for a Hawke Sidewinder.

"looknup"Clearidge makes the Ultra RM which is 12 inches and 12 oz AO for $230-246. <http://www.clearidgeoptics.com/ultra-rm-s/1814.htm>
On the cheap, AirForce is selling their light 3 - 9 x 40, AO for half price ($70) at their outlet store on clearance. <http://www.airforceairguns.com/AirForce-Airguns-Outlet-Store-p/u100r.htm>
That looks like a great option for me. I don't know much about rim fire scopes but can I assume that a scope that works for rim fire will also work for pcp air rifles?

I own a couple of the Clearidge scopes and a couple of the AF scopes. The Clearidge is lighter with better glass but the AF adjustable objective is smooth. The mil-dots are small at low power on the AF. The Clearidge is a better scope but it is 3 times the price. I did own a Bug-Buster and I like the AF scope much better so I no longer own the Bug-Buster.

PCP air rifles put less stress on scopes than other applications including rim fire. The scope concern for PCPs using firearm scopes is that many firearm scopes have parallax set at 100 yards so I look for scopes with adjustable objective (AO).
