Cricket compact .22 vs Taipan Veteran .22 Shorty

I have a Taipan Veteran Shorty & a Cricket Mini Carbine, both in .22.
If you like the handling of a bullpup, the Taipan is pretty awesome. Frankly, they both are. I like the handling of the Mini (Semi-bullpup) better. I don’t have lots of hard numbers on the Taipan yet, but it’s very accurate, quite, and great shot count. The Kalibrgun is as accurate, gets about 45+ shots to a fill. Don’t think you can go wrong with either.
Any specific concerns? Questions?

I think you probably need to ask yourself some things. Same caliber? Why do are you thinking of a Cricket as well as a Taipan? (for me, I wanted a very short & compact “woods” gun. I also wanted it as a backup gun) To collect?, etc. And go from there.
Is it worth it? Most definitely yes! But, why blow that kind of money on something that already does about the same thing? Answer that, and then you will know how to proceed.
If I had to choose, I would keep the Cricket Mini. But only b/c O have a local dealer and it shoulders better (for me)
Good Luck.

Hugo, you can't go wrong with either. I have a friend who comes over regularly with his .22 Taipan Veteran and it's really a top notch little pup. It really would be a tough call for me to choose it over my Cricket pup. I do love the 14 round mags on the .22 Crickets and the 12 round mags on the .25 Crickets.
Good luck on which ever you choose!

Any update to results with either gun choice? I'm looking at both guns. Dont know which I like more!

Well, I have owned both for a while now. Frankly I shoot the Cricket Mini Carbine way more. It is simply much more comfortable. They are both as accurate as far as I can tell, but I think I may need to do a "head to head" test and post results. The only thing I like about the Veteran over the Mini is the anti-double loading feature. The Cricket holds 14 shots in .22 vs 10 on the Vet, and it is easy to "hand load" with the mag still in place.

If I was choosing between pure bulpups, that is Compact vs Shorty, I probably would go with the Vet Short. That would be pure apples to apples. But between the ones I own, I rather have a little longer gun and be more comfortable. It just fits like a glove.

Pick-em. Both are excellent platforms. I call my cricket compact "little. Nasty". This crow dropped @ 107 yds.jsb 18.1 @ 860.fps.
