Cricket compact

At one point in time you couldn't give me a 177 cal PCP or a bullpup. But I have changed over the years and learned to like both. I recently got a 177 cricket from a good friend and I really like it. He had adjusted the power down to 13 fpe, but I wanted to get it to shoot 10 gr pellets around 900 fps. I adjusted it to shoot the 10 gr pellets at 875 fps and it was still very accurate. But after looking at the situation, I decided to reset it to 13 fpe because it was quieter and I have several high powered bullpups and don't need a powerful 177

Crickets will and usually shoot dead on, if they're not it's probably baffle damage from double loading. I have had the opportunity gravitate or "upgrade" to the latest and greatest, dime to quarter groups straight from the tin at 50 yards shooting at 60 fpe is the ultimate choice for me. This coupled with one of the easiest guns to work on. I would love to see a 30 on the underpowered 35 platform.

Will this baffle damage result in erratic chrony readings?

I think it would? Unscrew the shroud retest. How is the accuracy say out to 50? Mine shoots less than dime sized groups. Deadly on vermin 👊🏾😎 also have a 22 and 25 but prefer the 177 gets the job done cheaper ammo than buying 25 let alone buying 30 caliber pellets no thanks 😎

I will try that as I know that I have shot better groups when I first got it............Probably quarter size groups now.

Thanks Robert

Hi @blackdiesel what does your cricket weigh as shown in the pic above?

I'm not sure. I just checked my digital scale and the battery is dead. If I had to guess - I would say around 7lbs.

Nice.

I'm going to nickname my .25 "Porky Pig". I just weighed it and she comes in at 12 lbs with the bipod.

12 pounds!!!!!! That's 2 pounds more than my Umarex Gauntlet. Heck, my .357 Benjamin Bulldog only weighs 11 lbs with 4-16 scope, bipod and carrying strap.

My RTI Priest weighs 7 pounds, 8 ounces with a not so lightweight Discovery 30mm compact scope on it. Currently doesn't have a bipod but I favor the cheap Chinese ones with CF legs because they are the lightest and without recoil strength isn't an issue.

Nice! I just love Crickets. They are a permanent member in my PCP family.

I know, right?

While I do not own a Kalibr bull pup, I have a Cricket carbine and mini carbine, and they both shine like a diamond in a goat's butt.

Every time I drag one out to shoot, I am totally chuffed and ask myself why I dont shoot them more!!

They then get put back in the rack while I play with whatever else has captured my attention for the moment, lather, rinse, repeat........

I do know that I would be sorely pressed to sell either one of them.
