A freind of mine (luke) is buying a a cricket .22 and is not a member on here and asked me to enquire wat you guys think is the best pellet and FPS to run them at. Also wat distance your shooting at and wat critters your killing. All feed back would be great !!!

Drid, I have the Cricket Mini Carbine. It loves the JSB 16 grains, but will shoot 14s, 18s, as well as other brands equally well. I usually shoot at 30 yards or less. Birds, lots of squirrels,and rabbits too. I’m sure it would even take out a small to medium pig if you place the shot well. It’s a lazer at 30 yards.

The first two pellets I always try in my new .22 airguns are JSB 15.9 and 18.1. I have NEVER had a rifle that was shooting correctly not like one or the other. a lot of the time they like both pellets just one does slightly better than the other. Anywhere from 800-900fps should work. I'd start there and adjust the power later on when the gun is broken in to see which velocity gives the tightest groups. Congrats Luke on a nice gun!!!

Always shoot 18.1 JSB's with my .22 cricket. Very accurate out to 75 yards and not too shabby out to 100 yrds.

Short answer JSB's 18.13 at 880 fps Edgun west does a nice informative video showing a superior BC compared to a 920 fps. UTG med mounts with a 30 mm tube I used a 2.35" scope height and Hawkes chart. The Cricket .22 has a CZ barrel where Edguns use Lothar Walther in their guns, as does the .25 Cricket also. I'm not one for playing with turrets, I had pretty good results dialing the power of the scope to land on a particular mark at a measured range. There is no shortage of vids showing long range shots with the Cricket.

My Cricket 22 came from the factory shooting the JSB16,s at 910 and theJSB18,s at 860. At 75 yards with minimal wind there is a small advsntage to the 18 gr. pellets. As the wind picks up there is a definite advantage to the heavier pellet.

I can not say enough about a heavier pellet. 22 at 120 yards I can hit 2 a inch clay 3 out of 5 times. And that is a 18 grain JSB. A 15 grain jsb at that range is 1 out of 5. But a 25 grain in 15 4 out of 5. On the 22 I cheer when I hit. But a 25 is of course I hit that.
