CRAZIEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN

Nothing has been changed, added, disassembled, messed with or anything. I put the gun away in perfect working condition, got it out of the safe a couple weeks later and the magazines don't fit. I know it sounds absurd and it's whacky, that's why I'm so baffled. It doesn't make any sense at all. I think I'm going to take it apart and put it back together, tightening all of the screws to spec. If that doesn't work, I'm going to grind/sand some aluminum of the magazines until they fit. I'm definitely calling Hatsan tomorrow too. Even if I get it working properly, I still want to know what happened, otherwise this will bug me for months. Stoti

Did you ever measure with your caliper ?

I haven't measured with the calipers yet or been able to get a close up picture. Unfortunately, the huge fire burning in Northern California is about 1/4 mile from my house to the East. If the winds keep coming from the West, we should be okay, if the change and come from the East or North East, we're screwed. Been kind of busy since I made the post. I'll measure and take more pictures when this madness is over with. Stoti.

let me ask you this i just went outside to shoot my 25 cal RAW HM1000X and its was a struggle to get the mags to fit the only thing i can think is i keep my PCPs in my room where its as cold as a meat locker from my A C if your in cali i assume your running a A C any chance you could leave the rifle in a warm area for a day then try ,cant hurt PAT

No, mine was in a gun case in the safe, in my warm house. That was my first thought too. I called Hatsan yesterday and they actually told me they had heard of it happening a couple times. They assured me the only way it could happen is if the rifle has been dropped or banged up and the breech damaged. I told them this couldn't-didn't happen and they were as stumped as me. They wanted me to ship the gun back, blah, blah, blah, and they'd take a look. I asked them if it would hurt anything to run a file over the breech area since it's not a particularly expensive gun. They said it really wouldn't hurt anything as long as I didn't take off too much. I figure all I need to do is remove a couple thousandths and run a blue pen over the area where the finish is removed to fix the problem so that's what I'm going to do. I'll post some better pictures and the micrometer measurements this weekend. Still baffled!!! Stoti

Luke is the winner!!! I took the gun apart, put it back together and the action screw forward of the 2 trigger guard screws was binding it up. It wasn't even that tight and I had never messed with it. I had to back it off about one full turn, but when I did the magazine fit properly. I probably should have checked it a long time ago but since I hadn't messed with it, I didn't suspect it as the problem. I really couldn't believe how one turn of the screw made the action torque enough that the magazine wouldn't fit. In any case, I'm glad I figured it out with your help. Thank you all for your help and suggestions. Lesson learned! Stoti
