My birthday's coming up in six days (July 2nd) but the wife was merciful and gave me a teaser. Plano all weather double scoped rifle case.
Seems to be a pretty nice case for the price and it has wheels which I love but not a big fan of the moisture magnet open cell foam that came installed. Case Club sells the closed cell stuff on Amazon but it was $43 for 53"x16"x2" (ouch!) but then a light bulb goes off in my lightning fast bear trap of a mind. Out to the garage and open up the empty box that the Daystate compressor was packed in... ayup, closed cell foam, 2" thick perfect. At amazon prices, I bet there's $200 worth of foam in that box. Enough to do another rifle case and multiple handgun cases. I had to 2 piece it just aft of the trigger guard but imo, it turned out pretty nice. I'll deal with the open cell foam on the lid later, just wanted to share... my Regal looks so comfy in there. As an after thought, I have my doubts about the 'double scoped rifle' aspect. Perhaps one scoped rifle and one un-scoped if you positioned them tight enough but I knew that even before dropping hints on the wife. Speaking of which, let's hear it for great wives who put up with blokes like us.
