Constantly amazed at the power of "toy" airguns!

I tell people that I'm into air guns and they laugh and think I'm playing with toys!

My girlfriend and I were out shooting at 100 yards today with my high power regulated Marauder 1st gen .22. It pushes 18 gr. JSB's at 975 fps and 21 gr. Baracudas at 920 fps. I just made some hanging metal targets and a saw horse for a stand. I wanted a back stop this time, but I don't usually at 100 yards. So we found an old sheet of 3/4" plywood and an old picnic table that we layed on its side and leaned the plywood against it. On the rare occasions that we missed haha! (She hit her first 4 shots in a row! Made me look bad!) The back stop seemed to work fine and it did, but checking it later I found that the Baracudas had gone clear through the 3/4 ply and embedded themselves about a 1/8 inch below the surface of the table. The skirts not the heads! You really do not want to get hit with one of those! Definitely Not a toy! But very cool!

Ya once they make us "safe" from our firearms then they will turn their attention this way. But lets not go there. I'm in to good a mood.

Couple months ago I was trying to catch a pellet to look at the rifling marks on it. I took two milk jugs filled with water and put them in line but the pellet went through both. I then layed them down lengthwise and it went clear through again, so I gave up that idea and just pushed one through with a cleaning rod.
I was surprised!
