Considering an HW 100 Carbine-what kind of shot count are you owners getting?

I have the HW110 in .22 only 40 good shots

I have two, .22 and .177, and I think 40 is probably a reliable number. Great rifle!

Is it an optical illusion or does the synthetic stock carbine have a bigger air tank than the other carbines? I’ve been looking at them also and would like the larger tank on the walnut stocked HW100 carbine.

There's something weird about the photos on the AOA site, and the Weihrauch site is even more confusing. I believe they may offer certain things for the home market that are not exported, and I expect some of those pictures get mixed in, just a guess. My HW100 TK (carbines) both have barrels of approximately 16", and both air cylinders come to within an inch or so of the rear of the silencer, clearly different than the site pictures. So no, there is no room for the rifle-length cylinder. If the length and balance of the full length rifle suits you, that's the way for a greater shot count, and can also be tuned for a bit more power. I didn't need either more shots or more power, and I really like the feel of the shorter carbine.

I just called a dealer, mentioned above, and if I got it right, they try to order the carbines with the longer air tubes because they know it’s about shot count. So I’m taking it, they try to get them all with the tank an inch or so from the moderator on the carbines.

I think any carbine bought here will have the longer cylinder. These are all FAC power level, and I expect the cylinder on mine is standard for the US market.

I have the HW100 KT thumbhole laminate carbine in .22, it has the 16.1 inch barrel and 175cc air cylinder. Yes indeed the pics of many of them are confusing so always ask what the air cylinder volume is, the true carbine air cylinder is 105cc. Regarding shot count, I generally get 70 good shots before I have to start making POI adjustments. In any case, you can hardly go wrong with an HW100! Awesome shooters!

I've also been eyeing the HW100 carbine and I'm totally confused with the overall lengths on AoA's website. They show a laminate thumbhole stock at 38.4" and a walnut thumbhole at 41". Wouldn't they both be the same length.? Also some descriptions say bonded monderator, others just say moderator but they all appear to be the same. Are they all removable? If so, do they have 1/2-20 threads? If I purchased one I'd definitely go with a shorter moderator. The shorter, the better for me.

The Weihrauch specs are unintelligible. The pics show barrels and cylinders that are inconsistent, and the OAL numbers don't match up either. All the US silencers are glued. On both of my carbines it took only about 5 minutes (after removing the barrel) with a torch to heat it up enough to break the bond. A heat gun would probably be better, since the torch is so hot it's hard to avoid slightly discoloring the finish on the rear silencer cap. But it's barely noticeable. And yes, standard 1/2 - 20 threads.

Thank you for responding, thought I might be missing something. Guess I'll try contacting AoA and try to get the facts. I'm very interested at 38", not so much at 41".

I had the itch for a HW100 a couple of years ago but got carried away with aiguns with more power and never followed thru. Bought a HW44 a few months ago off classifieds and fell in love with it AND got totally over the whole power trip thing. I'd probably go with the bullpup if they had the shorter version in stock, but I would definitely go with a .177, don't need another .22 (but I really, really need a .177 since I don't have one 😇)

My HW100 TK carbines measure a bit over 41". No way a 38" measurement can apply to these rifles. Maybe that length applies to a FSB model. If you want something that short, I would highly recommend a Taipan Veteran. Or, you could use a Donny Tatsu silencer on a HW100 carbine, at 4.25" I think it meets your OAL goal, don't know about its effectiveness.
