condor vs condor ss

If you are looking for all out brute power the 24" bbl in the condor is the way to go. One other point. The .22 cal is nice but for hunting consider the .25 cal. With slugs 100+ fpe easily obtainable with 24" bbl. I have the ss .25 with 18" bbl running @ 50 fpe. Tons of info on the talon tunes forum on the af platform.

In .22 the Condor SS is overpowered out of the box. I had to use the smallest 2 transfer ports in the Ring Loc kit to get it down to a usable velocity. I don't know what the standard Condor would gain you except more noise. If you want big power get the .25.

thinking about getting a condor 22 cal. anyone have any imput on the power difference between a standard condor and the ss version. can the ss be made to hang with the standard condor as far as ft lb of energy. also will they shoot slugs

If you're looking for outright fpe the easiest solution for you would be to add a moderator to a condor, taking advantage of the extra 6" of barrel.

Both Airforce barrels I have, choked and without choke, shoot slugs and pellets well, though I use .25 and haven't really heard the .22 users speak up.

I only have the condor ss and it's great in 25 but 22 you need heavier pellets .

I have a different philosophy about condors than alot of guys on here. Most will tune it down a bit to shoot normal sized or just slightly heavy pellets. I think For me the condor is a fire breathing dragon that I use to kill coons and possum and such. I would leave it as it is and buy some really heavy pellets or something like hunter supply slugs. I haven't really found any pellets the gun won't eat. However all that doesn't mean to say to just turn it to max and start shooting. Get a chrono and find out that happy medium. Good luck!
